Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi orang tua dengan anak penghuni Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Anak Kutoarjo, mengetahui persepsi orang tua tentang nilai anak, dan mengetahui pandangan orang tua terhadap anak yang menjadi penghuni Lapas. Informan utama adalah orang tua yang anaknya berada di Lapas dan informan pendukung yaitu petugas dan anak yang berada di Lapas Anak Kutoarjo. Lokasi Penelitian berada di Jawa Tengah diantaranya: Purworejo, Temanggung dan Pemalang serta D.I Yokyakarta yang merupakan tempat tinggal informan utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, interaksi orang tua dengan anak penghuni Lapas Anak Kutoarjo dilihat dari intensitas kunjungan antara 2-3 bulan sekali. Seorang anak di mata orang tua memiliki arti tersendiri: sebagai anugerah, buah hati, harta tak ternilai, dan harapan orang tua. Pandangan berbeda diungkapkan setiap orang tua ketika anak mereka berada di Lapas, ada yang menganggap anak hanya sebagai korban, sebagai aid dalam keluarga, sebagai sebuah pembelajaran bagi anak, serta ada pula yang beranggapan bukan semata-mata karena dirinya namun juga karena adanya pengaruh dari lingkungan dan pola pengasuhan yang kurang baik dari orang tua. Perlu ada perhatian dari orang tua pada anak yang sedang dan setelah mereka selesai menjalani proses rehabilitasi. Masyarakat mau menerima kembali dan membimbing serta memantau perkembangan anak dan menghilangkan stigma yang selam ini melekat dalam masyarakat merupakan langkah awal menilai bahwa individu dari anak yang pernah berada di Lapas tidak semaunya buruk, karena selama mereka berada di Lapas mendapat bekal pengetahuan dan bagaimana berperilaku yang baik.

The purpose of research is to find out the interaction between the  parent  and children in the jail, to find out the perception of parent about the value of  child, to find out the perception of parent to the child that live in the jail. The  main informant is the parent whose their child is being jail and  support informant  that is the officer  and  child  that put in the jail at Lapas Anak Kutoarjo. The location of research is the Central Java: Purworejo, Temanggung, and Pemalang  and D.I Yogyakarta which  it is the place  of main informants. The result of research shows that the interaction of parent and their child   who live in jail of Lapas Anak Kutoarjo that seen from the visit intensity  between 2-3 month a time. A child in the parent eyes has their  own definition: as the gift, sweetheart, invaluable property, and parents hope. The different perception that is stated by every parent when their child is in the jail, they  thinks that child just as the victim, as the disgrace  in  the family, as the  learning  to the child, and they also thinks not only because of him but also from the   environment influence and  the ways  of taking care  to the child  that  is not good enough  from their  parents. It needs to be concerned from the parents to their child that are being and after they accomplish the rehabilitation process. The society  can accept again and guide and observe the development of child and remove the stigma   that attaches in the society, it is the first step to judge that  individual from the child that ever in Lapas does not always bad, because while they are in Lapas  they gets  the knowledges and ay to act in good manners.
