Bahan baku merupakan faktor utama yang menunjang kelancaran dan 
efektifitas proses produksi. Sumber Rayung perlu menentukan persediaan yang 
sesuai dalam memenuhi kebutuhan produksi untuk mencapai tingkat yang 
ekonomis, karena rumput glagah memiliki masa panen  satu tahun sekali yaitu 
pada bulan Agustus sehingga harganya fluktuatif. Tujuan penelitian adalah 
menghitung volume pembelian dan biaya persediaan bahan baku yang ekonomis, 
menganalisis perbedaan volume pembelian dan biaya persediaan bahan baku yang senyatanya dengan yang ekonomis. Metode penelitian  yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, sedangkan alat analisis yang digunakan adalah perhitungan EOQ, TIC dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa volume pembelian dan biaya persediaan bahan baku rata-rata per tahun yang ekonomis berdasarkan perhitungan EOQ adalah 525,04 kilogram dengan frekuensi 6 kali dan biaya sebesar Rp317.909,00. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara volume pembelian bahan baku senyatanya dengan perhitungan EOQ, yaitu t hitung (5,87) lebih besar dari t tabel (2,306). Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara  biaya pengadaan bahan baku yang senyatanya dengan perhitungan EOQ, yaitu t hitung (4,61) lebih dari t tabel (2,306). Hal ini menunjukan bahwa Sumber Rayung belum melakukan penentuan volume pembelian bahan baku yang ekonomis dan belum melakukan penghematan biaya persediaan bahan  baku. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dengan perhitungan persediaan volume bahan baku di Sumber Rayung dapat menunjukan tingkat persediaan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan dapat menjaga kontinuitas produksi dengan pengeluaran biaya yang ekonomis.

The materials is the main factor that support the smoothness and 
effectiveness of production process. Sumber Rayung  needs to determine 
appropriate stock to fulfill the production needs to reach an economical level, 
because the Glagah’s grass harvests only once in a  year on August, so the prices 
are fluctuate. The research is purposed to calculate the volume of purchasement 
and the inventory cost of economical raw materials,to analyze the differences 
between the volume of purchasement and the inventory cost of raw materials in 
real and economical. The research method is used anaction method, while the 
analysis tool is used the calculation of EOQ, TIC and t test. The results shows that 
average volume of purchasement and the inventory cost of raw materials based on 
EOQ calculation in a year is 525,04 pounds with the6 times frequency and the 
cost as big as Rp317.909,00. There are significant  difference between the real 
volume of raw material purchasement with the EOQ calculation, that is the t 
count (5,87) is higher than the t table (2,306). There is a significant difference 
between the inventory cost of raw materials to the  real calculation of EOQ, that 
the t count (4,61) is more than the t table (2,306).  This is shows that Sumber 
Rayung’s has not done the determin purchasement volume of economical raw 
materials and has not done economy the inventory cost of raw materials. 
Research has shown that by calculating the volume of raw material stock in 
Sumber Rayung, it is able to show the appropriate stock levels as needed and to 
maintain production sustainability in economical cost.
