Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pembingkaian yang dilakukan Tempo.co dan Kompas.com dalam menuliskan berita isu revisi UU Pilkada yang banyak menuai kontroversi. Metode analisis data yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yakni analisis framing model Robert N. Entman yang melihat framing berita dari pemberian definisi, penjelasan, evaluasi, dan rekomendasi, dipadukan dengan Teori Konstruksi Sosial untuk mengungkap seleksi dan penonjolan isu yang dilakukan oleh jurnalis Tempo.co dan Kompas.com dalam memberitakan peristiwa tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua media hampir serupa dalam membingkai isu Revisi UU Pilkada. Baik Tempo.co dan Kompas.com secara garis besar membingkai isu ini sebagai sarat muatan politik dan pelanggaran hukum sebab tindakan DPR dinilai terburu-buru seakan-akan didorong oleh kepentingan jangka pendek dari kelompok tertentu. Bedanya, jurnalis Tempo.co menyoroti isu revisi UU Pilkada lebih kepada konflik vertikal antara DPR RI dengan masyarakat Indonesia, sedangkan jurnalis Kompas.com memahami realitas isu revisi UU Pilkada sebagai konflik elit politik antara fraksi PDI-P dan koalisi parpol yang mengusung satu paslon dalam Pilkada Jakarta 2024.

This study analyzes the news framing conducted by Tempo.co and Kompas.com in reporting on the controversial revision of the Regional Head Election Law (UU Pilkada). Using Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis model—which focuses on problem definition, causal interpretation, moral evaluation, and treatment recommendation—combined with Social Construction Theory, this research aims to uncover how journalists at both outlets selected and emphasized particular aspects of the issue. The findings indicate that both Tempo.co and Kompas.com similarly framed the revision as politically charged and legally problematic, portraying the House of Representatives (DPR) as acting hastily, driven by the short-term interests of specific political groups. However, differences emerge in the angle of coverage: Tempo.co tends to frame the issue as a vertical conflict between the DPR and the public, while Kompas.com frames it as an elite political conflict between the PDI-P faction and a coalition of parties supporting a single candidate in the 2024 Jakarta regional election.
