PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN RUMPUT LAUT (GRACILARIA SP.) PADA PAKAN BASAL KAMBING YANG MENGANDUNG CHROMIUM TERHADAP KONSUMSI SERAT KASAR DAN PROTEIN KASAR

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh suplementasi tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp.) dan mineral Chromium (Cr) organik dalam pakan kambing terhadap konsumsi serat kasar (SK) dan protein kasar (PK). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Melon Farm, Jl. Gunung Tugel, Gg. Melon, Desa Karangklesem, Kec. Purwokerto Selatan, Kab. Banyumas. Analisis laboratorium dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu Bahan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto, selama 4 bulan, dimulai dari bulan Maret hingga Juni 2024. Materi penelitian yang digunakan adalah kambing Jawarandu jantan umur 1 tahun dengan bobot badan 25,422,41 kg. Pakan perlakuan terdiri atas tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp.) dan Chromium (Cr) organik. Pakan basal yang diberikan sebanyak 4% (dalam bahan kering) yang terdiri atas 30% hijauan (rumput lapang) dan 70% konsentrat (pollard, bungkil kedelai, bungkil kelapa, dedak, DDGS, tepung jagung, garam krosok, mineral mix, CaCO3) serta air minum Metode penelitian adalah eksperimental menggunakan Uji T (Test T). Perlakuan yang diujicobakan yaitu R0: Pakan basal + 1,5 ppm mineral Chromium (Cr) organik; R1: R0 + 2% tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp.). Perlakuan diulang sebanyak 9 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P > 0,05) terhadap konsumsi serat kasar (g/ekor/hari) dengan rataan R0 = 143,47 ± 31,88 dan R1 = 137,58 ± 25,51. Perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap konsumsi protein kasar (g/ekor/hari) dengan rataan R0 = 115,52 ± 18,41 dan R1 = 136,17 ± 22,73. Dari penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi 2% tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp.) dalam pakan basal kambing yang mengandung Chromium (Cr) organik 1,5 ppm mempengaruhi konsumsi protein kasar, tetapi tidak mempengaruhi konsumsi serat kasar.

This study aimed to examine the effect of supplementation with seaweed meal (Gracilaria sp.) and organic Chromium (Cr) mineral in goat feed on crude fiber (CF) and crude protein (CP) intake. The research was conducted at Melon Farm, Jl. Gunung Tugel, Gg. Melon, Karangklesem Village, South Purwokerto District, Banyumas Regency. Laboratory analyses were carried out at the Animal Feed Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto, over a period of four months from March to June 2024. The experimental animals used were male Jawarandu goats aged 1 year with an average body weight of 25.42 ± 2.41 kg. The treatment feed consisted of seaweed meal (Gracilaria sp.) and organic Chromium (Cr). The basal feed was given at 4% of body weight (on a dry matter basis) and consisted of 30% forage (field grass) and 70% concentrate (pollard, soybean meal, coconut meal, rice bran, DDGS, corn meal, coarse salt, mineral mix, and CaCO₃), along with ad libitum drinking water. The study used an experimental method with a t-test. The treatments tested were: R0: Basal feed + 1.5 ppm organic Chromium (Cr), R1: R0 + 2% seaweed meal (Gracilaria sp.). Each treatment was replicated 9 times. The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P > 0.05) on crude fiber intake (g/head/day), with mean values of R0 = 143.47 ± 31.88 and R1 = 137.58 ± 25.51. The treatment had a significant effect (P < 0.05) on crude protein intake (g/head/day), with mean values of R0 = 115.52 ± 18.41 and R1 = 136.17 ± 22.73. From these result, it can be concluded that the supplementation of 2% seaweed meal (Gracilaria sp.) in the basal diet of goats containing 1.5 ppm of organic Chromium (Cr) affects crude protein intake but does not affect crude fiber intake.
