SISTEM MIXED CROPPING RUMPUT RED NAPIER DENGAN GAMAL PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP JUMLAH DAUN DAN DIAMETER BATANG RED NAPIER PADA BERBAGAI TINGKAT DEFOLIASI

Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di lahan Experimental Farm dan Laboratorium Agrostologi Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto pada bulan Maret hingga Oktober 2024. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sistem tanam rumput Red Napier (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Purple) dan gamal (Glricidia sepium) terhadap jumlah daun dan diameter batang rumput pada berbagai tingkat defoliasi. Materi yang digunakan yaitu Rumput Red Napier, gamal, pupuk organik dan pupuk NPK, serta seperangkat alat panen. Metode yang digunakan yaitu eksperimen menggunakan Split Plot Design dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial 2×3 dengan 4 ulangan. Sebagai main plot yaitu sistem monokultur Red Napier (T) dan sistem mixed cropping Red Napier-gamal (C). Sebagai sub plot umur panen 42 hari (P1); 56 hari (P2); dan 70 hari (P3). Peubah yang diukur adalah jumlah daun dan diameter batang Red Napier. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan perbedaan sistem tanam memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05), serta perbedaan umur panen memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata (P ≤ 0,01) terhadap jumlah daun dan diameter batang rumput Red Napier. Hasil uji lanjut DMRT menunjukkan bahwa sistem mixed cropping Red Napier-gamal memiliki rataan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan sistem monokultur Red Napier. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa jumlah daun dan diameter batang terbaik diperoleh pada pola penanaman mixed cropping Red Napier-gamal yang di panen umur 70 hari yaitu 14,58 ± 0,65 helai daun/tanaman dan 20,45 ± 0,81 mm/tanaman.

The research has been carried out on the land of the Experimental Farm and Agrostology Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto from March to October 2024. This study aims to determine the influence of the Red Napier grass planting system (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Purple) and gamal (Glricidia sepium) to the number of leaves and the diameter of the grass stem at different degrees of defoliation. The materials used are Red Napier Grass, gamal, organic fertilizer and NPK fertilizer, as well as a set of harvesting tools. The method used was an experiment using Split Plot Design with a factorial Group Random Design (RAK) 2×3 with 4 replicates. As the main plot, namely the Red Napier (T) monoculture system and the Red Napier-gamal (C) mixed cropping system. As a sub-plot with a harvest age of 42 days (P1); 56 days (P2); and 70 days (P3). The variables measured were the number of leaves and the diameter of the Red Napier stem. The results of the variance analysis showed that the difference in planting system had a real effect (P<0.05), and the difference in harvest age had a very real effect (P ≤ 0.01) on the number of leaves and the diameter of the Red Napier grass stem. The results of DMRT's follow-up test showed that the Red Napier-gamal mixed cropping system had a higher average than the Red Napier monoculture system. Based on this study, it can be concluded that the best number of leaves and stem diameter was obtained in the Red Napier-gamal mixed cropping planting pattern which was harvested at a age of 70 days, namely 14.58 ± 0.65 leaves/plant and 20.45 ± 0.81 mm/plant.
