PENGARUH FORTIFIKASI MINERAL MAGNESIUM DAN SULFUR TERHADAP KONSUMSI DAN KECERNAAN BAHAN ORGANIK PAKAN DOMBA

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh fortifikasi mineral magnesium dan sulfur terhadap konsumsi bahan organik (KBO) dan kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO) pada pakan domba telah dilaksanakan pada Juni – September 2024. Materi dan Metode. Pakan diberikan sebanyak 4,5% BK berdasarkan bobot badan, dengan imbangan 25% jerami padi amoniasi dan 75% konsentrat pada domba lokal jantan yang berumur 10 – 12 bulan sebanyak 18 ekor dengan bobot badan 24,2 ± 2,2 kg. Metode penelitian yang digunakan eksperimental in vivo menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) one way classification dengan 3 perlakuan dan masing - masing perlakuan dilakukan 6 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang diuji berupa (P1) = jerami padi amoniasi (25%) + konsentrat (75%); (P2) = P1 + mineral magnesium (Mg); (P3) = P2 + mineral sulfur (S). Variabel yang diukur yaitu konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan organik, data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan ANAVA kemudian diuji lanjut dengan menggunakan Uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Hasil. Hasil penelitian didapatkan rata-rata konsumsi bahan organik yaitu 757,64 ± 78 gram/ekor/hari (P1), 666,33 ± 16,08 gram/ekor/hari (P2), 770,71 ± 41,83 gram/ekor/hari (P3), 835,87 ± 33,50 gram/ekor/hari. Sedangkan rata-rata kecernaan bahan organik yaitu 89,41 ± 0,024% (P1), 92,25 ± 0,017% (P2), 92,69 ± 0,017% (P3). Hasil analisis variansi (ANAVA) menunjukkan bahwa fortifikasi mineral magnesium (Mg) dan sulfur (S) pada pakan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi bahan organik, dan berpengaruh nyata terhadap kecernaan bahan organik (P<0,05). Hasil uji BNJ menunjukan bahwa konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan organik pakan yang difortifikasi mineral magnesium (Mg) dan sulfur (S) nyata (P<0,05) lebih tinggi daripada pakan yang tidak difortifikasi mineral magnesium (Mg) dan sulfur (S) (P1), dan pakan yang hanya difortifikasi mineral magnesium (Mg) saja (P2). Kesimpulan. Fortifikasi mineral magnesium (Mg) dan sulfur (S) pada pakan mampu meningkatkan konsumsi bahan organik pakan domba 20,28% dan kecernaan bahan organik pakan domba 3,54% jika dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol.

Research aimed at assessing the effect of magnesium and sulphur mineral fortification on organic matter consumption (KBO) and organic matter digestibility (KcBO) in sheep feed was conducted from June to September 2024. Materials and Methods. Feed was given as much as 4.5% DM based on body weight, with a balance of 25% ammoniated rice straw and 75% concentrate in local male sheep aged 10-12 months, 18 heads with a body weight of 24.2 ± 2.2 kg. The research method used was experimental in vivo using a Completely Randomised Design (CRD) one way classification with 3 treatments and each treatment was carried out 6 times. The treatments tested were (T1) = ammoniated rice straw (25%) + concentrate (75%); (T2) = T1 + mineral magnesium (Mg); (T3) = T2 + mineral sulfur (S). The variables measured were consumption and digestibility of organic matter, the data obtained were analysed by ANOVA and then further tested using the Honestly Signifcant Difference Test (HSD). Results. The results showed that the average consumption of organic matter was 757.64 ± 78 grams/head/day (T1), 666.33 ± 16.08 grams/head/day (T2), 770.71 ± 41.83 grams/head/day (T3), 835.87 ± 33.50 grams/head/day. While the average digestibility of organic matter is 89.41 ± 0.024% (T1), 92.25 ± 0.017% (T2), 92.69 ± 0.017% (T3). The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that fortification of magnesium (Mg) and sulfur (S) minerals in feed had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on organic matter consumption, and a significant effect on organic matter digestibility (P<0.05). HSD test results showed that the consumption and digestibility of organic matter of feed fortified with mineral magnesium (Mg) and sulfur (S) were significantly (P<0.05) higher than feed not fortified with mineral magnesium (Mg) and sulfur (S) (T1), and feed fortified with mineral magnesium (Mg) only (T2). Conclusion. Fortification of mineral magnesium (Mg) and sulfur (S) in feed was able to increase organic matter consumption of sheep feed by 20.28% and organic matter digestibility of sheep feed by 3.54% when compared to the control treatment.
