Latar Belakang: Ayam niaga petelur adalah jenis ayam yang dibudidayakan secara khusus untuk memproduksi telur konsumsi. Jenis strain ayam niaga petelur yang umum dibudidayakan  oleh peternak di Indonesia antara lain Isa Brown dan Lohmann Brown. Ayam strain Isa Brown memiliki ciri khas berupa bulu berwarna coklat kemerahan serta menghasilkan telur dengan kerabang berwarna cokelat. Ayam strain Lohmann Brown memiliki beberapa karakteristik, seperti bulu berwarna coklat dengan sedikit krem pada bagian leher dan ekor, pial berwarna merah segar, tubuh yang penuh dan memanjang, serta telur berwarna coklat dengan ukuran cukup besar. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan performa produksi, meliputi bobot telur, HDP, dan FCR pada ayam niaga petelur strain Isa Brown dan Lohmann Brown setelah umur 40 minggu. Metode: Materi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah ayam niaga petelur strain Isa Brown dan Lohmann Brown dengan umur 52-63 dan 44-55 minggu dengan populasi masing-masing sebanyak 920 ekor dan 540 ekor. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji t-student pada tingkat signifikansi 5% dengan alat bantu SPSS. Jika nilai P<0,05 maka berbeda nyata sedangkan jika nilai P>0,05 maka berbeda tidak nyata. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan strain berbeda nyata (P<0,05) pada hen day production (HDP) dan berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) pada bobot telur dan feed conversion ratio (FCR) ayam niaga petelur. Kesimpulan: Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan antara strain Isa Brown dan Lohmann Brown menunjukkan bahwa bobot telur serta feed conversion ratio (FCR) yang dihasilkan relatif sama, sementara hen day production (HDP) pada strain Isa Brown lebih tinggi dibandingkan strain Lohmann Brown pada umur lebih dari 40 minggu.

Background: Commercial laying hens are a type of hen cultivated specifically to produce eggs for consumption. Common strains of commercial laying hens cultivated by farmers in Indonesia include Isa Brown and Lohmann Brown. Isa Brown strain hens are characterized by reddish-brown feathers and produce eggs with brown shells. Lohmann Brown strain hens have several characteristics, such as brown feathers with a little beige on the neck and tail, fresh red wattle, a full and elongated body, and brown eggs with a fairly large size. Purpose: T This study aims to determine the differences in production performance, including egg weight, HDP, and FCR in commercial laying hens of Isa Brown and Lohmann Brown strains after 40 weeks of age. Methods: The materials used in this study were commercial laying hens of Isa Brown and Lohmann Brown strains aged 52-63 and 44-55 weeks with a population of 920 and 540 birds, respectively. The data obtained were then analyzed using the t-student test at a significance level of 5% with SPSS tools. If the P value is <0.05, it is significantly different while if the P value is>0.05, it is not significantly different. Results: The results showed that strain differences were significantly different (P<0,05) on hen day production (HDP) and not significantly different (P>0,05) on egg weight and feed conversion ratio (FCR) of commercial laying hens. Conclusion: From the results of this study it can be concluded that the difference between Isa Brown and Lohmann Brown strains shows that the egg weight and feed conversion ratio (FCR) produced are relatively the same, while hen day production (HDP) in Isa Brown strain is higher than Lohmann Brown strain at the age of more than 40 weeks.
