Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fenomena alih kode yang terjadi antara mahasiswa asal Jepang dan Indonesia di Universitas Gadjah Mada, mengidentifikasi berbagai bentuk alih kode yang muncul, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemunculannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian mencakup mahasiswa Jepang dan Indonesia di lingkungan kampus Universitas Gadjah Mada, sementara objek penelitiannya adalah tuturan langsung yang mengandung unsur alih kode dalam percakapan kedua kelompok mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik simak-catat, observasi, dan perekaman. Data yang diperoleh sebanyak 18 data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa temuan penting. Pertama, jenis alih kode yang ditemukan terdiri dari dua kategori, yaitu (1) alih kode berdasarkan sifat dan (2) alih kode berdasarkan arah peralihan. Alih kode berdasarkan sifat mencakup alih kode sementara dan permanen. Alih kode sementara terjadi ketika bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Jepang bergantian digunakan dalam waktu singkat. Terdapat 6 data pada alih kode yang bersifat sementara. Sedangkan alih kode permanen tidak ditemukan dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan arah peralihannya, alih kode yang ditemukan adalah alih kode eksternal, yaitu peralihan dari bahasa Indonesia ke bahasa Jepang sebanyak 5 data. Kedua, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya alih kode dalam interaksi antara mahasiswa Jepang dan Indonesia di lingkungan kampus meliputi (1) penutur, (2) lawan bicara, dan (3) kehadiran pihak ketiga.

This research aims to analyze the phenomenon of code switching that occurs between Japanese and Indonesian students at Universitas Gadjah Mada, identify the various forms of code switching that appear, and identify the factors that influence its occurrence. The method used is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects include Japanese and Indonesian students in the campus environment of Universitas Gadjah Mada, while the object of research is direct speech that contains elements of code switching in the conversations of the two groups of students. The data were collected through listening, observation, and recording techniques. The data obtained were 18 data. The results showed some important findings. First, the types of code switching found consist of two categories, namely (1) code switching based on the nature and (2) code switching based on the direction of switching. Code-switching by nature includes temporary and permanent code-switching. Temporary code switching occurs when Indonesian and Japanese are alternately used for a short period of time. There are 6 data on temporary code switching. While permanent code switching was not found in this study. Based on the direction of the switch, the code switching found is external code switching, which is a switch from Indonesian to Japanese as much as 5 data. Second, the factors that influence the occurrence of code switching in the interaction between Japanese and Indonesian students in the campus environment include (1) the speaker, (2) the audience, and (3) the language.
