PENGARUH METODE MONTESSORI TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN MOTORIK HALUS DAN KASAR ANAK USIA DINI 3-5 TAHUN BERDASARKAN DENVER DEVELOPMENT SCREENING TEST (DDST) II ABSTRAK Lita Heni Kusumawardani1 Desiyani Nani2 Sulistiani3 Latar belakang: Montessori merupakan metode mendidik anak-anak yang menekankan pada aktivitas anak. Metode Montessori mampu mengaktifkan aspek motorik halus dan kasar anak. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode Montessori terhadap perkembangan motorik halus dan kasar anak usia 3-5 tahun. Metode: Desain penelitian quasy experiment dengan pendekatan pre and post test with control group. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Besarnya sampel sebanyak 40 anak yang terdiri dari 21 anak di PAUD Nur Hidayah (kelompok perlakuan) dan 19 anak di PAUD Bina Kasih I (kelompok kontrol). Instrumen penelitian berupa Denver Development Screening Test (DDST) II. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik Mann-Whitney dan Wilcoxon. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil uji Mann-Whitney setelah perlakuan pada motorik halus diperoleh nilai p=0,126 dan motorik kasar diperoleh nilai p=0,005. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil uji Wilcoxon pada motorik halus diperoleh nilai p=0,024 dan motorik kasar diperoleh nilai p=0,014. Kesimpulan: Metode Montessori dapat meningkatkan perkembangan motorik halus dan kasar anak usia 3-5 tahun di PAUD Nur Hidayah Desa Rempoah Kecamatan Baturraden. Namun demikian, metode Montessori lebih banyak berpengaruh pada peningkatan perkembangan pada motorik kasar dibandingkan perkembangan motorik halus anak terutama kombinasi metode Montessori dengan engklek pada permainan yang menstimulasi motorik kasar. Saran: Disarankan agar para orang tua dapat lebih memperhatikan dalam mengoptimalisasikan perkembangan motorik halus dan kasar anak. EFFECT OF MONTESSORI METHOD ON THE FINE AND GROSS MOTORIC SKILL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN AGES 3-5 YEARS BASED DENVER DEVELOPMENT SCREENING TEST (DDST) II ABSTRACT Lita Heni Kusumawardani1 Desiyani Nani2 Sulistiani3 Background: Montessori is a method of teaching children based on children activity. It can activate fine and gross motoric skill development on children. Purpose: This study is to find out the effect of Montessori method on the fine and gross motoric skill development of children aged 3-5 years. Methods: This study is a quasy experiment research with pre and post test with control group design approach. Sampling method used is purposive sampling. Sample size are 40 children consisting of 21 children in Nur Hidayah Ages Early Chidhood Education (treatment group) and 19 children in Bina Kasih I Ages Early Chidhood Education (control group). Research instrument is Denver Development Screening Test (DDST) II. Statistical data analysis used is the Mann-Whitney test and Wilcoxon. Results: The results showed that the result of statistic test with Mann-Whitney was got p=0,126 for fine skill motoric and p=0,005 for gross skill motoric after intervention. The results showed that the result of statistic test with Wilcoxon was got p=0,024 for fine skill motoric and p=0,014 for gross skill motoric. Conclusion: Montessori method can improve fine and gross motoric skill development of children aged 3-5 years in Nur Hidayah Ages Early Chidhood Education. But, Montessori method is more effective for improving of gross skill motoric than fine skill motoric especially combination of Montessori method with engklek to stimulate gross motoric development. Recommendations: It is recommended that parents can pay more attention in optimizing the fine and gross motoric skill development of their children.
