KEPADATAN POPULASI TUNGAU PREDATOR FAMILIA Phytoseiidae DAN TUNGAU HAMA Brevipalpus phoenicis PADA BEBERAPA KLON DI PTPN IX KALIGUA, BREBES, JAWA TENGAH
Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)
The population densities of pest mites Brevipalpus phoenicis and their predatory mites of Phytoseiidae from different tea clones at Kaligua Tea Plantation, Brebes Central Java have been studied. This research used a survey method with a systematic sampling technique. Samples were taken from each of four corners, sides, and the midlle of the designated tea plantation of each location. From each sampling point, 15 petioles of tea leaves were taken fron each of 3 representing tea plants. Samplings were repeated 4 times, with an interval of one week. Samples were examined under a stereo microscope and the pest and the predatory mites found were counted per area unit of the tea leaves. Additional data, temperature, air moisture, and humadity were recorded. The data were calculated using “Model II Analysis of Variance” and Duncan Test with confidence limits of 20% and 10%. The results showed that the population densities of both pest and predatory mites were significantly influenced by the tea clones where they lived (P<0.20). The predatory mite Amblyseius deleoni and pest mite Brevipalpus phoenicis have higher density compared to the predator mite population density Phytoseius sp. Other factors which influenced the population densities were the angle and surface are aof the leaf, the density and length of the trichoma.
