Sejalan dengan perubahan waktu, ternyata di Purwokerto mulai muncul kafe-kafe bernuansa beda dan memberikan alternatif hiburan dalam bentuk lain. Beberapa kafe bahkan tidak pernah sepi dari pengunjung tiap harinya. Hal inilah yang membuat penulis merasa tertarik untuk mengkajinya dalam bentuk skripsi berjudul Motivasi Remaja Purwokerto Nongkrong di Kafe. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui motivasi yang dimiliki remaja untuk nongkrong di kafe, sekaligus membahas perkembangan kafe di Purwokerto. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah remaja pengunjung kafe dan pengelola kafe, tokoh masyarakat setempat, dan instansi terkait yaitu Disporabudpar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kafe-kafe Purwokerto, teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik penetapan informan menggunakan purposive sampling dan metode analisis data ini mengunakan interactive analysis model. 
Dari penelitian ini motivasi pengunjung untuk datang ke kafe dapat dibedakan menjadi motivasi sosial dan motivasi ekonomi. Motivasi sosial antara lain bertemu dengan teman, mencari hiburan, dan melepas kejenuhan. Motivasi ekonomi antara lain menikmati internet secara gratis, ada juga yang mencari uang dengan cara menjual diri. Perkembangan kafe di Purwokerto setiap tahunnya meningkat, dibuktikan dengan menjamurnya kafe-kafe di Purwokerto beserta fasilitas yang terus bertambah. Banyaknya kafe diharapkan tidak memunculkan dampak negatif seperti kafe plus yang menyediakan wanita penghibur yang dapat merusak moral remaja.

By the time, there are some café’s those are having different atmosphere and give another entertainment alternative. Some of them are never empty from visitors each days. This thing makes the writer feels interesting to study it in form of thesis entitles MotivasiRemajaPurwokertoNongkrong di Kafe. 
Purpose of this research is to know teenager motivation to hangout in café, more over it is to know more about the café’s growth in Purwokerto. This research applies qualitative descriptive method done by performing analysis toward findings in field related, data is gotten from two sources, that is primary data and secondary data. Primary data is directly taken from analysis target, they are teenagers as the café visitors and café management, the local chief society, some people from related Dispoabudpar office. This research has done in some of café’s in Purwokerto. the technique of collecting data are intensive interview, observation and documentation. The informant application technique is used purposive sampling and the data reduction; data display, and take the conclusion.
The result of this analysis is that the majority café visitors those are teenagers have motivation to hang out in café. The visitor’s motivations to hang out in café are based on the necessary and the interest to be accomplished. From the analysis of the research there are two kinds of motivations to hang out in café, they are social motivation such as meeting with some friends, refreshing from the routinity, and looking for the entertainment. There is also economical motivation such as getting free hotspot, looking for extra money in this case they give paid for it. The café growth in Purwokerto is increasing every years within the large numbers of café in Purwokerto, the qualities and facilities are also increasing. Many café’s, it should not bring negative impacts such as café’s plus that provide comfort women that provide comfort women that can damage teen morality.
