Sirosis hati merupakan komplikasi dari penyakit hati yang kronis, yaitu
didapati perubahan struktur dari parenkim hati sehingga hati tidak bisa berfungsi
secara normal.  Sirosis hepatis berada di urutan ke-14 sebagai penyebab kematian orang dewasa di seluruh dunia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi dan karakteristik pasien sirosis hepatis di Klinik Gastroentero Hepatologi RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo tahun 2023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional deskriptif dengan pengambilan sampel degan teknik total sampling dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel frekuensi dan persentase.  Jumlah sampel yang didapatkan yaitu 201. Prevalensi sirosis hepatis di Klinik Gastroentero Hepatologi RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo tahun 2023 yaitu 11%. Kasus sirosis hepatis terbanyak terjadi pada pasien berumur diatas 60 tahun yaitu 88 orang (45%), berjenis kelamin laki-laki yaitu 123 orang (65%), memiliki faktor risiko unspecified factor berjumlah 100 orang (50%). Untuk hasil laboratorium pasien sirosis hepatis banyak yang memiliki AST yang tinggi yaitu 113 orang (56%), ALT yang normal berjumlah 110 orang (55%), dan mengalami perpanjangan PT sebanyak 110 orang (55%). Derajat keparahan banyak yang tidak dapat dinilai yaitu 137 orang (68%). Komplikasi pasien paling banyak memiliki lebih dari 1 komplikasi berjumlah 81 orang (40%).

Liver cirrhosis is a complication of chronic liver disease, namely changes in the structure of the liver parenchyma so that the liver cannot function normally. Liver cirrhosis is ranked 14th as a cause of death in adults worldwide. This study aims to determine the prevalence and characteristics of liver cirrhosis patients at the Gastroentero Hepatology Clinic on Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital in 2023. This research type is descriptive observational with sampling method using the total sampling technique and presented in the form of frequency and percentage tables. The number of samples obtained was 201. The prevalence of liver cirrhosis at the Gastroentero Hepatology Clinic on Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital in 2023 was 11%. The most cases of liver cirrhosis occurred in patients over 60 years of age, namely 88 people (45%), with male gender mostly at 123 people (65%), having unspecified risk factors with the total of 100 people (50%). For the laboratory results of patients with liver cirrhosis, many had high AST, namely 113 people (56%), normal ALT was 110 people (55%), and experienced PT prolongation as many as 110 people (55%). The degree of severity with child-pugh method could not be assessed, namely 137 people (68%). The most patient complications had more than 1 complication, amounting to 81 people (40%).
