Indonesia merupakan negara yang termasuk ke dalam jalur gunung api Asia-Pasifik atau yang sering di kenal sebagai ring of fire, hal tersebut menjadikan Indonesia memiliki cebakan mineral ekonomis yang melimpah. Lengan Sulawesi bagian Utara merupakan salah satu pulau dengan kehadiran alterasi dan mineralisasi yang melimpah. Oleh karena itu perlunya dilakukan penelitian terkait geologi dan kontrol struktur geologi terhadap alterasi – mineralisasi, khususnya pada daerah penelitian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah meninjau peran struktur geologi terhadap proses alterasi dan mineralisasi pada daerah penelitian, yang diharapkan dapat menghasilkan referensi terkait karakteristik alterasi yang dapat digunakan untuk eksplorasi lanjutan. Berdasarkan analisis mineral spektoskopi menggunakan Analytical Spectral Device (ASD), petrografi, dan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), zona alterasi pada daerah penelitian terbagi ke dalam 6, antara lain adalah Zona Klinopiroksen-Vesuvianit-Garnet-Tremolit±Epidot±Dolomit (skarn), dan Zona Wolastonit-Klinopiroksen-Kuarsa (skarn) sebagai early stage. Kemudian terjadi overprint oleh Zona Silifikasi (Pervasive dan Massive), Zona Kaolinit-Ilit-Smektit-Kuarsa (argilik), Zona Klorit-Smektit-Epidot±Dolomit-Kalsit (propilitik) sebagai late stage. Mineralisasi pada daerah penelitian didominasi oleh open space filling, dicirikan dengan adanya pengisian rekahan oleh urat-urat, selain itu terdapat pengkayaan mineral bijih berupa pirit, kalkopirit, galena, sfalerit, kovelit, kalkosit, dan Malasit. Alterasi dan mineralisasi daerah penelitian erat kaitannya dengan struktur geologi pada daerah penelitian, kemudian sesar-sesar yang berkaitan dengan proses alterasi dan mineralisasi dapat dikelompokan menjadi struktur fase pre-mineralization, dan syn-mineralization. Fase struktur pre-mineralisasi terbentuk pada Miosen Akhir, fase tegasan W-E menghasilkan sesar reaktivasi yang kemudian menghasilkan tegasan N-S yang membentuk sesar mendatar menganan (riedel shear). Kemudian terbentuk tegasan SE-NW  yang membentuk urat-urat yang berarah NW-SE / NNW-SSE di daerah penelitian sebagai fase struktur syn-mineralization. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan terbentuknya struktur fase tegasan NE-SW yang membentuk urat-urat yang berarah NE-SW sebagai fase struktur syn-mineralization. Berdasarkan data-data yang telah dikumpulkan menunjukan bahwa terdapat proses overprinting endapan skarn yang terbentuk pada Miosen Awal oleh endapan epitermal sulfidasi rendah pada Plio-Pleistosen.

Geologically, Indonesia is a country that is included in the Asia-Pacific volcanic belt or what is often known as ring of fire, this makes Indonesia have abundant potential of economic mineral deposits. The northern arm of Sulawesi is one of the islands with abundant alteration and mineralization. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out research related to geology and geological structure control of alteration - mineralization, especially in the research area. The aim of this research is to review the role of geological structure in the alteration and mineralization processes at research area, which is expected to produce references regarding alteration characteristics that can be used for further exploration. Based on spectroscopic mineral analysis using Analytical Spectral Device (ASD), petrography, and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), the alteration zones in the study area are divided into 6 group, including the Clinopyroxene-Vesuvianite-Garnet-Tremolite±Epidot±Dolomite (skarn) Zone, and the Wolastonite-Clinopyroxene-Quartz (skarn) Zone asearly stage. Then it happened overprint by the Silification Zone (Pervasive and Massive), Kaolinite-Illite-Smectite-Quartz Zone (argillic), Chlorite-Smectite-Epidot±Dolomite-Calcite Zone (propylytic) as late stage. Mineralization in the study area is dominated by open space filling, characterized by the filling of fractures by veins, in addition there is enrichment in ore minerals in the form of pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite, covellite, chalcocite and Malacite. Alteration and mineralization in the research area are closely related to the geological structure in the research area, then faults related to alteration and mineralization processes can be grouped into phase structures.pre-mineralization, and syn-mineralization. The pre-mineralization structural phase was formed in the Late Miocene, the W-E stress phase produced a reactivation fault which then produced a N-S stress that formed a right-hand horizontal fault (riedel shear). Then a SE-NW stress is formed which forms the NW-SE / NNW-SSE oriented veins in the research area as a structural phase of syn-mineralization. Then continued with the formation of a NE-SW stress phase structure that forms NE-SW oriented veins as a phase of syn-mineralization structure. Based on the data that has been collected, it shows that there is a process of overprinting skarn deposits that were formed in the Early Miocene by low sulphidation epithermal deposits in the Plio-Pleistocene.
