STUDI FENOMENOLOGIS STIGMA MASYARAKAT TERHADAP KEBERADAAN PENDERITA TUBERKULOSIS (TB) DI DESA BEJI, KECAMATAN KEDUNGBANTENG, KABUPATEN BANYUMAS

Latar Belakang: Salah satu permasalahan dalam penanganan tuberkulosis adalah terkait stigma masyarakat terhadap penderita TB. Hal tersebut berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan pengobatan serta kualitas hidup penderita TB, maka penting untuk dieksplorasi secara mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi stigma masyarakat terhadap keberadaan penderita tuberkulosis di Desa Beji. Metode: Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif melalui pendekatan fenomenologis. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui FGD terhadap 14 informan perwakilan elemen masyarakat dan indepth interview terhadap 5 informan penderita TB. Analisis yang digunakan adalah content analysis. Hasil Penelitian: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan fenomena bahwa masyarakat Desa Beji tidak mempunyai stigma terhadap penderita TB. Masyarakat tidak merasa sangat rentan untuk tertular TB serta menganggap bahwa TB bukanlah penyakit kutukan dan sulit disembuhkan selama penderita menjalani pengobatan secara teratur. Selain itu, tidak ditemukan pihak atau media yang mengucilkan penderita TB. Namun, masih terdapat penderita TB yang menutup diri atas status tuberkulosisnya karena takut kabarnya tersebar dan menularkan sehingga mereka membutuhkan dukungan sosial dari kerabat khususnya keluarga. Kesimpulan: Masyarakat Desa Beji sudah tidak mempunyai stigma terhadap penderita TB sedangkan masih terdapat penderita yang menutup diri atas status TB. Dibutuhkan peningkatan sosialisasi terkait penanganan dan pencegahan TB serta pemberian dukungan moril dan materil kepada penderita TB.

Background: One of the problems in treating Tuberculosis is related to the society stigma towards the presence of tuberculosis sufferers. This affects the succes of treatment and the quality of life of tubercullosis sufferers, so it is important to explore it in depth. This research aims to explore society stigma regarding the presence of tuberculosis sufferers in Beji Village. Methode: The type of research used is qualitative study using a phenomenological approach. Data was obtained through FGD session with 14 informants representing elements of community and in-depth interviews with 5 informants suffering from tuberculosis. The analysis used in this study is content analysis. Results: Based on the research results, the phenomenon was found that the people of Beji Village do not have a stigma towards tuberculosis sufferers. They do not feel they prone to contracting tuberculosis and think that tuberculosis is not a cursed disease and is difficult to cure as long as sufferers undergo regular treatment. Apart from that, there were no parties or media that isolated tuberculosis sufferers. However, there are still tuberculosis sufferers who hide their tuberculosis status because they are afraid that the news will spread and could be contagious, so they need social support from relatives, especially family. Conclusion: The people of Beji Village no longer have a stigma towards TB sufferers, while there are still sufferers who hide themselves about their tuberculosis status. There is a need to increase outreach regarding TB treatment and prevention as well as providing moral and material support to TB sufferers.
