Factors Affecting the Exchange Rate of the Rupiah Against the US Dollar in Indonesia During the Period 2003-2022

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh suku bunga BI, utang luar negeri, ekspor neto, dan harga minyak dunia terhadap nilai tukar Rupiah terhadap dolar AS di Indonesia. Dalam penelitian ini, teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier berganda. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil penelitian bahwa: (1) suku bunga BI berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap nilai tukar Rupiah terhadap dolar AS di Indonesia; (2) utang luar negeri berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap nilai tukar Rupiah terhadap dolar AS di Indonesia; (3) ekspor neto berpengaruh positif tidak signifikan terhadap nilai tukar Rupiah terhadap dolar AS di Indonesia; (4) harga minyak dunia berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap nilai tukar Rupiah terhadap dolar AS di Indonesia.

The study to analyse the influence of BI interest rate, foreign debt, net export, and world oil price on exchange rate of the Rupiah against the US dollar in Indonesia. In this study, the data analysis technique used for multiple linear regression. Based on the analysis that has been carried out, the results of the study were obtained that: (1) BI interest rate has a positive and significant effect on the Rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar in Indonesia; (2) foreign debt has a positive and significant effect on the Rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar in Indonesia; (3) net exports have a positive and insignificant effect on the Rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar in Indonesia; (4) world oil prices have a negative and significant effect on the Rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar in Indonesia.
