PENGARUH SUPLEMENTASI SELENIUM YEAST DAN VITAMIN E PADA AYAM NIAGA PETELUR UMUR 94 – 102 MINGGU TERHADAP BOBOT, TEBAL DAN KEKUATAN KERABANG TELUR

Alfin Thoriq Bahtiar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh suplementasi selenium dan vitamin E dan mengkaji dosis terbaik terhadap bobot, ketebalan dan kekuatan kerabang telur. Materi penelitian menggunakan ayam niaga petelur strain Hy-Line umur 94 minggu sejumlah 100 ekor. Bahan selenium yeast, vitamin E, dan pakan ayam periode produksi yang terdiri atas jagung giling (50%), dedak (25%), dan konsentrat (25%) dengan kandungan nutrien protein kasar 17,5%, kalsium 3%, phosphor 1,6% dan energi metabolism (ME) 2900 Kkal/kg. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu penambahan Selenium dan Vitamin E yang terdiri dari P0 = kontrol (pakan basal), P1 = pakan basal ditambah selenium yeast 100 mg dan 100 mg vitamin E per kg pakan, P2 = pakan basal ditambah selenium yeast 150 mg dan 100 mg vitamin E per kg pakan, P3 = pakan basal ditambah selenium yeast 100 mg dan 200 mg vitamin E per kg pakan, P4 = pakan basal ditambah selenium yeast 150 mg dan 200 mg vitamin E per kg pakan. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali, sehingga didapatkan total percobaan sebanyak 25 unit. Variabel penelitian yang diukur yaitu bobot, tebal dan kekuatan kerabang telur. Data yang telah diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi (ANAVA). Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot, ketebalan dan kekuatan kerabang telur. Rataan bobot kerabang telur sebesar 8,46±0,87 g; ketebalan kerabang 0,28±0,07 mm dan kekuatan kerabang 0,29±0,04 mpa. Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah penambahan suplementasi selenium dan vitamin e terhadap bobot, ketebalan dan kekuatan kerabang telur pada ayam niaga petelur relatif sama.

Alfin Thoriq Bahtiar. This study aimed to assess the effect of selenium and vitamin E supplementation and assess the best dose on eggshell weight, thickness, and strength. The research material used 94-week-old Hy-Line strain commercial laying hens totaling 100 birds. Selenium yeast, vitamin E, and production period chicken feed consisting of ground corn (50%), bran (25%), and concentrate (25%), with nutrient content of crude protein (17,5%), calcium (3%), phosphorus (1,6%), and metabolic energy (ME) (2900 kcal/kg). The experimental design used was a complete randomized design (CRD) with five treatments. The treatment given was the addition of selenium and vitamin E, consisting of P0 = control (basal feed), P1 = basal feed plus selenium yeast 100 mg and 100 mg vitamin E per kg feed, P2 = basal feed plus selenium yeast 150 mg and 100 mg vitamin E per kg feed, P3 = basal feed plus selenium yeast 100 mg and 200 mg vitamin E per kg feed, and P4 = basal feed plus selenium yeast 150 mg and 200 mg vitamin E per kg feed. Each treatment was repeated five times, resulting in a total of 25 experimental units. The research variables measured were the weight, thickness, and strength of eggshells. The data obtained were then analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results of the analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P > 0,05) on the weight, thickness, and strength of the eggshell. The average eggshell weight was 8,46±0,87 g; shell thickness was 0,28±0,07 mm; and shell strength was 0,29±0,04 mpa. The study concludes that the addition of selenium and vitamin E supplementation to the weight, thickness, and strength of the eggshell in commercial laying hens is relatively the same.
