Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami tipe kepribadian dan faktor yang memengaruhi kepribadian tokoh utama dalam novel Rasa karya Tere Liye. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Rasa karya Tere Liye. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori kepribadian Gerard Heymans. Hasil analisis data akan dijabarkan dalam bentuk deskripsi dengan penjelasan yang sederhana dan mudah dipahami.

Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa tokoh utama memiliki 4 tipe kepribadian, yaitu cholerici, gapasioneerden, flegmaciti, dan nerveuzen. Tipe kepribadian paling dominan yang dimiliki oleh tokoh utama adalah cholerici. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena sifat periang dan jahil termasuk dalam tipe kepribadian yang cenderung aktif. Oleh karena itu karakter dominan yang dimiliki tokoh utama termasuk dalam tipe kepribadian cholerici. Kepribadian tokoh utama dipengaruhi oleh faktor biologis, keluarga, dan lingkungan. Lingkungan menjadi faktor paling dominan yang memengaruhi kepribadian tokoh utama.

This research aims to understand personality types and factors that influence the personality of the main character in Tere Liye novel’s Rasa. The method used in this research is qualitative. The sourche of the data ini this research is the novel Rasa by Tere Liye.  The theory used in this research is Gerard Heymans’ theory of personality. The results of data analysis will be described in the form of a description with a simple and easy-to-understand explanation.

The results of the data analysis show that the main character has 4 personality types, namely cholerici, gapasioneerden, flegmaciti, and nerveuzen. The most dominant personality type possessed by the main character is cholerici. This is because the cheerful and mischievous nature is included in the personality type that tends to be active. Therefore the dominant character possessed by the main character is included in the cholerici personality type. The main character’s personality is influenced by biological, family, and environmental factors. The environment is the most dominant factor influencing the main character’s personality.
