Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan karakter dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra yang terdapat dalam novel Mawar Hitam karya Fajar Dwi Putra. Novel ini menceritakan seorang wanita berusia muda yang selalu berpikir positif mengenai masalah yang ia hadapi. Tokoh yang mengantarkan nilai pembentukan karakter dalam novel ini yaitu ibu Maya, Maya, dan Dina, ketiga tokoh tersebut yang mengantarkan pendidikan karakter pada tokoh yang ada dalam cerita. Kajian sosiologi sastra yang digunakan mengacu pada teori Faruk, sedangkan nilai pendidikan karakter menggunakan teori kemendiknas 2010.
Penelitian ini mempunyai dua rumusan masalah yaitu nilai pendidikan karakter dalam novel dan relevansi nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam novel Mawar Hitam. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan karakter yang ada dalam novel serta mendeskripsikan relevansi nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam novel Mawar Hitam sebagai materi menganalisis isi dan kebahasaan novel. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskripsif kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik baca dan teknik catat. Metode analisis data yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode analisis isi.
Berdasarkan penelitian, nilai pendidikan karakter yang ditemukan sejumlah 13 dalam novel Mawar Hitam karya Fajar Dwi Putra, yaitu: nilai religius, jujur, toleransi, Disiplin, kerja keras, Mandiri, rasa ingin tahu, bersahabat, cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli sosial, tanggung jawab dengan jumlah yang masuk 28 data termasuk kedalam nilai pendidikan karakter, penelitian ini dikaitkan dengan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di jenjang SMA kelas XII kurikulum 2013 berdasarkan KD 3.9 Menganalisis isi dan kebahasaan novel.

This study aims to describe the value of character education with a literary sociology approach contained in Fajar Dwi Putra's novel Black Roses. This novel tells of a young woman who always thinks positively about the problems she faces. The characters who convey the values of character formation in this novel are Maya, Maya, and Dina, the three characters who deliver character education to the characters in the story. The study of sociology of literature used refers to Faruk's theory, while the value of character education uses the theory of the Ministry of National Education 2010.

This study has two problem formulations, namely the value of character education in the novel and the relevance of character education values in the novel Black Roses. The purpose of this study is to describe the value of character education in the novel and to describe the relevance of character education values in the novel Mawar Hitam as material for analyzing the novel's content and language. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques in this study used reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis method used in this study is the content analysis method.
Based on research, there are 13 values of character education found in the novel Black Roses by Fajar Dwi Putra, namely: religious values, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, independence, curiosity, friendship, peace-loving, fond of reading, social care, responsibility with a total of 28 data included in the value of character education, this research is related to learning Indonesian at the level Senior High School XII grade high school based on KD 3.9 Analyzing the content and language of the novel.
