ABSTRAK FORMULASI DAN AKTIVITAS ANTI JERAWAT NANOKRIM MINYAK ATSIRI KULIT KAYU MANIS (Cinnamomum burmanii (Nees & Th. Nees) Nees ex Blume) TERHADAP Staphylococcus epidermidis Latar Belakang : Jerawat termasuk delapan penyakit kulit paling umum dengan prevalensi global 9,4%. Salah satu penyebabnya infeksi bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis (47,5%). Sinamaldehida sebagai konstituen terbesar pada minyak atsiri kulit kayu manis terbukti memiliki aktivitas antibakteri sehingga berpotensi alternatif terapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri dan menentukan formulasi terpilih dari variasi konsentrasi minyak atsiri. Metodologi : Metode penelitian yaitu eksperimental laboratorium dengan ultrasonikasi. Sediaan dibuat berdasarkan variasi konsentrasi minyak atsiri F0 (0%), F1 (2,5%), F2 (3,75%), F3 (5%) serta minosiklin 4% sebagai kontrol positif. Formula terpilih ditentukan berdasarkan uji fisik, aktivitas antibakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis, dan uji statistika. Kemudian dilakukan karakterisasi nanopartikel. Hasil Penelitian : Seluruh formulasi memenuhi uji fisik, kecuali uji daya sebar. Hasil daya hambat yaitu kontrol positif 23,833 mm, F0 0 mm, F1 8,75 mm, F2 13 mm, dan F3 15,75 mm. F2 merupakan formula terpilih dengan hasil zeta potensial yang stabil, namun belum terbentuk nanokrim. Kesimpulan : Nanokrim minyak atsiri kulit kayu manis memiliki aktivitas terhadap Staphylococcus epidermidis dan F2 sebagai formulasi terpilih. ABSTRACT FORMULATION AND ANTI ACNE ACTIVITY OF NANOCREAM ESSENTIAL OIL OF Cinnamomum burmanii (Nees & Th. Nees) Nees ex Blume) AGAINST Staphylococcus epidermidis Nova Dwi Anggraeni1, Beti Pudyastuti2, Nur Amalia Choironi3 Background : Acne is one of the eight most common skin diseases with a global prevalence of 9.4%. One of the causes is Staphylococcus epidermidis bacterial infection (47.5%). Cinnamaldehyde as the largest constituent of cinnamon bark essential oil has been shown to have antibacterial activity, thus potentially as an alternative therapy. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity and determine the selected formulation of the various concentrations of essential oils. Methodology: The research method is an experimental laboratory with ultrasonication. Formulation were made based on variations in the concentration of essential oils F0 (0%), F1 (2,5%), F2 (3,75%), F3 (5%) and 4% minocycline as positive controls. The selected formula is determined based on physical tests, Staphylococcus epidermidis antibacterial activity, and statistical tests. Then characterized the nanoparticles. Results : All formulations is within the required of physical test, except the spreadability test. The results of the inhibition were positive control 23,84 mm, F0 0 mm, F1 8,75 mm, F2 13 mm and F3 15,75 mm. F2 was determined as the selected formula with a stable zeta potential but hasn’t yet formed nanocream. Conclusion : Cinnamon bark essential oil nanocream has high activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis and F2 as the selected formulation.
