Air lindi adalah cairan yang timbul dari hasil dekomposisi sampah yang membusuk dan mengalami pelarutan akibat masuknya air eksternal, baik dari resapan air hujan maupun air sampah itu sendiri. Lindi sangat berbahaya apabila dialirkan langsung ke dalam perairan. Salah satu organisme yang terkena dampaknya adalah makrozoobenthos. Penelitian ini berjudul “Struktur Komunitas Makrozoobentos Pada Saluran Irigasi Banjaran II Yang Terpolusi Air Lindi TPA Gunung Tugel Purwokerto”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas makrozoobenthos pada daerah sebelum dan sesudah terpolusi air lindi TPA Gunung Tugel di Saluran Irigasi Banjaran II, Purwokerto, serta perbedaan struktur komunitas antara kedua daerah pengamatan. Metode survey dengan teknik group random sampling. Penelitian ini dibedakan menjadi 2 daerah yaitu sebelum dan sesudah terpolusi air lindi, dan masing-masing daerah terbagi menjadi 3 stasiun. Setiap perlakuan diulang 2 kali. Data diuji ‘t’. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur komunitas makrozoobentos pada daerah sebelum terpolusi air lindi yaitu kepadatan individu 81 ind/m2, keragaman spesies 0,963; indeks kemerataan 0,414 dan indeks dominansi 0,516. Daerah sesudah terpolusi air lindi yaitu kepadatan individu 104 ind/m2, keragaman spesies 1,387, indeks kemerataan 0,502 dan indeks dominansi 0,379. Hasil uji “t” menunjukkan kedua daerah tidak berbeda nyata.

Leachate is the liquid arising from the decomposition of rotting waste and dissolved due to the entry of external water, both from the rainwater infiltration and waste water itself. Leachate is very dangerous when flows directly into waters. One of organisms affected are macro-zoobenthos. This study entitled “Macro-zoobenthos Community Structure in water polluted areas in Gunung Tugel, Landfill Leachate Irrigation Channel Banjaran II, Purwokerto". The aim of this research was to know the community stucture of macro-zoobenthos in before and after the polluted leachate areas of TPA Gunung Tugel in Banjaran II irrigation, Purwokerto, and also the community structure differences in the both 2 areas of observation. A survey method used in group random sampling technique, in the 2 areas, and each area divided into 3 stations in duplicates. Data were then t-tested. The result of this research showed that macro-zoobenthos community structure in before leachate polluted area were individual density 81 ind/m2, species diversity 0.963; evenness index 0.414 and dominance index 0.516. In after leachate polluted areas were individual density 104 ind/m2; species diversity 1.387; evenness index 0.502 and dominance index 0.379. Macro-zoobenthos community structures between 2 areas were not significantly different.
