PENGARUH SUPLEMENTASI SELENIUM DAN VITAMIN E PADA AYAM NIAGA PETELUR TERHADAP BOBOT TELUR DAN EGG MASS

Penelitian “Pengaruh Suplementasi Selenium dan Vitamin E pada Ayam Niaga Petelur terhadap Bobot Telur dan Egg Mass” bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi selenium dan vitamin E pada pakan terhadap bobot telur dan egg mass ayam niaga petelur. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 8 minggu, bertempat di Experimental Farm, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Materi penelitian menggunakan ayam niaga petelur strain Hyline Brown sebanyak 100 ekor berusia 94 minggu. Bahan penelitian terdiri atas selenium yeast (SELECELL dengan kandungan 4500 ppm), vitamin E (MAX-E*), dan pakan ayam periode produksi yang terdiri atas jagung giling (50%), dedak (25%) dan konsentrat (25%) dengan kandungan nutrient energy sebesar 2900 kcal/kg, protein kasar 17,5%, Ca 3%, dan P 1,6%. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah penambahan selenium dan vitamin E yang terdiri dari P0 = pakan basal (kontrol), P1 = pakan basal + 100 mg/kg selenium yeast + 100 mg/kg vitamin E, P2 = pakan basal + 150 mg/kg selenium yeast + 100 mg/kg vitamin E, P3 = pakan basal + 100 mg/kg selenium yeast + 200 mg/kg vitamin E, dan P4 = pakan basal + 150 mg/kg selenium yeast + 200 mg/kg vitamin E. Setiap unit percobaan terdiri atas 4 ekor ayam niaga petelur dan setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Variabel yang diukur meliputi bobot telur dan egg mass. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan analisis variansi. Hasil rataan bobot telur yaitu 64,14±2,66 g/ekor/hari dan hasil rataan egg mass yaitu sebesar 46,75±5,39 g/ekor/minggu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis variansi, suplementasi selenium dan vitamin E berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot telur dan massa telur. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu suplementasi selenium dan vitamin E pada ransum pakan ayam niaga petelur belum mampu meningkatkan bobot telur dan massa telur.

The aim of the study "The Effect of Selenium and Vitamin E Supplementation in Commercial Laying Hens on Egg Weight and Egg Mass" was to determine the effect of selenium and vitamin E supplementation in feed on egg weight and egg mass of commercial laying hens. The research was carried out for 8 weeks, at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Animal Science, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. The research material used 100 laying hens of the Hyline Brown strain aged 94 weeks. The research materials consisted of selenium yeast (SELECELL containing 4500 ppm), vitamin E (MAX-E*), and chicken feed during the production period, consisting of ground corn (50%), bran (25%) and concentrate (25%) with a nutritional energy content of 2900 kcal/kg, 17,5% crude protein, 3% Ca, and 1,6% P. The research was carried out with an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatment given was the addition of selenium and vitamin E consisting of P0 = basal feed (control), P1 = basal feed + 100 mg/kg selenium yeast + 100 mg/kg vitamin E, P2 = basal feed + 150 mg/kg selenium yeast + 100 mg/kg vitamin E, P3 = basal feed + 100 mg/kg selenium yeast + 200 mg/kg vitamin E, and P4 = basal feed + 150 mg/kg selenium yeast + 200 mg/kg vitamin E. Each experimental unit consisted of 4 commercial laying hens and each treatment was repeated 5 times. The variables measured include egg weight and egg mass. Analysis of research data used analysis of variance. The average egg weight results were 64,14±2,66 g/head/day and the average result of egg mass is 46,75±5,39 g/head/week. Based on the results of the analysis of variance, selenium and vitamin E supplementation had no significant effect (P>0.05) on egg weight and egg mass. The conclusion of this study was that supplementation of selenium and vitamin E in the feed ration of commercial laying hens has not been able to increase egg weight and egg mass.
