Air menjadi salah satu input penting dalam kegiatan pertanian tanaman padi. Namun, selama ini petani belum memasukan ke dalam komponen biaya sebagaimana input lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghitung nilai atas guna langsung yang diperoleh dari keuntungan selama proses tani padi dan; menghitung Nilai Ekonomi Total air Sungai Cibeureum pada sektor pertanian tanaman padi di Kecamatan Gandrungmangu berdasarkan nilai atas guna langsung. Populasi penelitian ini adalah ketua kelompok tani sebanyak 34 orang di tiga desa yang terlewati Sungai Cibeureum. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode valuasi ekonomi. 
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh bahwa nilai atas dasar guna langsung atau keuntungan total dari kegiatan pertanian padi per musim tanam sebesar Rp59.352.622.000,00. Nilai Ekonomi Total air Sungai Cibeureum memiliki nilai yang sama dengan nilai atas dasar guna langsung karena dalam prosesnya petani memanfaatkan air secara langsung. 
Besarnya nilai air dari Sungai Cibeureum, maka upaya dari petani yang dapat dilakukan untuk menjaga kualitas air salah satunya adalah meminimalkan penggunaan zat-zat kimia dan tidak membuang sampah ke sungai. Peran pemerintah juga diperlukan seperti pemeliharaan jaringan irigasi dan sungai agar tetap berfungsi dengan baik.

Water is one of the important inputs in rice farming activities. However, so far farmers have not includeed it in the cost component as other inputs. This study aims to calculate the value of direct use obtained from profits during the rice farming process and; calculating the Total Economic Value of Cibeureum River water in the rice farming sector in Gandrungmangu District based on the value of direct use. The population of this research is the head of a farmer group of 34 people in three villages that are crossed by the Cibeureum River. This study uses the economic valuation method.
Based on the results of the study, it was found that the value on the basis of direct use or total profit from rice farming activities per planting season was Rp59.352.622.000,00. Economic Value The total water of the Cibeureum River has the same value as the value on a direct use basis because in the process farmers use the water directly.
The large value of water from the Cibeureum River means that efforts by farmers to maintain water quality include minimizing the use of chemicals and not throwing garbage into the river. The government's role is also needed, such as maintenance of irrigation networks and rivers so that they continue to function properly.
