Air menjadi bagian yang esensial dalam pertumbuhan tanaman melon. Kekurangan dan kelebihan air pada tanaman ini menyebabkan kelayuan bahkan mati pada tanaman sebab terganggunya aktivitas metabolisme pada proses pertumbuhan tanaman. Penggunaan hidroponik menjadi salah satu upaya mengoptimalkan produksi melon. Seiring perkembangan teknologi masyarakat Indonesia mulai mengenal penggunaan sistem NFT dan irigasi tetes. Respon tanaman yang dihasilkan dari penggunaan kedua sistem tersebut akan berbeda pada setiap jenis varietas melon yang digunakan. Varietas yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu Jumbo F1 dan Golden Aroma.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis sistem fertigasi dan varietas terhadap pertumbuhan serta kualitas melon. Penelitian dilaksanakan di screenhouse UKM Marsudi Tani, Desa Pasir Kulon, Kecamatan Karanglewas, Kabupaten Banyumas pada bulan Agustus 2022 hingga November 2022. Metode penelitian ini yaitu Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan menggunakan 2 faktor dan 6 ulangan. Faktor berupa sistem irigasi dengan 2 taraf yaitu sistem NFT dan irigasi tetes serta faktor varietas dengan 2 taraf yaitu Jumbo F1 dan Golden Aroma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis sistem fertigasi berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, berat buah, diameter buah, dan kemanisan buah. Perbedaan varietas berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter buah, dan kemanisan buah. Interaksi antara jenis sistem fertigasi dan varietas berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman minggu ke-3, berat buah, dan kemanisan buah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kombinasi perlakuan terbaik dihasilkan oleh sistem NFT dan varietas Golden Aroma baik dari segi berat, diameter, maupun kemanisan buahnya. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu petani melon dalam memilih jenis sistem fertigasi dan varietas unggul untuk mengoptimalkan produksi.

Water is an essential factor of the melon growth. Lack and excess of water in these plants causes wilting and even death of plants due to disruption of metabolic activity in the growth process. The use of hydroponics is an effort to optimize melon production. Along with the development of technology, Indonesian people are starting to recognize the use of the NFT system and drip irrigation. The response of the plants resulting from the use of the two systems will be different for each type of melon variety used. The varieties used in this study were Jumbo F1 and Golden Aroma. This study aims to determine the effect of fertigation system types and varieties on the growth and quality of melons. The research was conducted at the Marsudi Tani UKM screenhouse, Pasir Kulon Village, Karanglewas District, Banyumas Regency from August 2022 to November 2022. The research method was a randomized block design using 2 factors and 6 repetitions. The factor is an irrigation system with 2 levels, namely the NFT system and drip irrigation and the varietal factor with 2 levels, namely Jumbo F1 and Golden Aroma. The results showed that the type of fertigation system had a significant effect on plant height, fruit weight, fruit diameter, and fruit sweetness. Differences in varieties significantly affect plant height, fruit diameter, and fruit sweetness. The interaction between the type of fertigation system and the variety significantly affected the 3rd week plant height, fruit weight, and fruit sweetness. Based on the results of the study, the best treatment combinations were produced by the NFT system and the Golden Aroma variety both in terms of weight, diameter and sweetness of the fruit. This research is expected to help melon farmers in choosing the type of fertigation system and superior varieties to optimize production.
