PENGARUH SUPLEMENTASI MINYAK MAGGOT BSF (Hermetia illucens) TERHADAP KONSUMSI DAN KONVERSI PAKAN AYAM SENTUL

Penelitian “Pengaruh Suplementasi Minyak Maggot BSF (Hermetia illucens) Terhadap Konsumsi dan Konversi Ayam Sentul” adalah mengkaji penggunaan Minyak maggot BSF pada ayam Sentul dengan harapan bisa meningkatkan konsumsi dan menurunkan konversi pakan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 19 September 2022 - 19 Oktober 2022, bertempat di Kandang Percobaan dan Laboratorium Ilmu Bahan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Materi yang digunakan adalah ayam Sentul grower umur 4-8 minggu, pakan basal (protein 18,18%; ME 3224 kkal/kg), kandang dan perlengkapannya, timbangan, kalkulator, serta minyak maggot BSF. Penelitian menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan 5 ulangan, setiap ulangan berisi 4 ekor ayam Sentul. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu R0 = Pakan Basal, R1 = R0 + 1% minyak maggot, R2 = R0 + 2% minyak maggot, dan R3 = R0 + 3% minyak maggot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan suplementasi minyak maggot BSF berpengaruh sangat nyata (P>0,01) terhadap konsumsi pakan ayam Sentul dan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konversi pakan ayam Sentul. Nilai konsumsi pakan antara 1354,22 ± 53,37 hingga 1553,44 ± 37,20, nilai konversi pakan antara 5,234 ± 0,21 hingga 5,942 ± 0,52. Kesimpulan suplementasi minyak maggot BSF (Hermetia illucens) dalam pakan ayam Sentul menurunkan konsumsi dengan konversi pakan realtif sama. Minyak maggot BSF dapat disuplementasi maksimal 1% dalam pakan ayam Sentul (protein 18,18%; ME 3224 kkal/kg). Perlu adanya penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi minyak maggot BSF dalam pakan ayam Sentul yang kadar protein dan energi metabolisnya perlu diturunkan sehingga efektivitas asam laurat dalam minyak maggot dapat diamati.

The study "The Effect of BSF Maggot Oil (Hermetia illucens) Supplementation on Consumption and Conversion of Sentul Chickens" is to examine the use of BSF maggot oil in Sentul chickens with the hope of increasing consumption and reducing feed conversion. . The research was began on September 19th 2022 - October 19th 2022, at the Experimental Farm and Animal Feed Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. Materials used were Sentul grower chickens aged 4-8 weeks, basal feed (18.18% protein; ME 3224 kcal/kg), cages and equipment, scales, calculators, and BSF maggot’s oil. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications, each replication containing 4 Sentul chickens. The treatment given was R0 = Basal Feed, R1 = R0 + 1% maggot’s oil, R2 = R0 + 2% maggot’s oil, and R3 = R0 + 3% maggot’s oil. The results of this experiment showed that the addition of BSF maggot’s oil supplementation had a very significant effect (P>0.01) on Sentul chicken feed consumption and had no significant effect (P<0.05) on Sentul chicken feed conversion. Feed consumption values between 1354.22 ± 53.37 to 1553.44 ± 37.20, and feed conversion values between 5.234 ± 0.21 to 5.942 ± 0.52. Conclusion of BSF (Hermetia illucens) maggot oil supplementation in Sentul chicken feed reduces consumption with relatively the same feed conversion. BSF maggot oil can be supplemented with a maximum of 1% in Sentul chicken feed (18.18% protein; ME 3224 kcal/kg). Further research is needed to determine the effect of BSF maggot oil supplementation in Sentul chicken feed, where protein levels and metabolic energy need to be reduced so that the effectiveness of lauric acid in maggot oil can be observed.
