Produksi Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA) dan Amonia (NH3) Ransum Berbasis Indeks Sinkronisasi Protein dan Energi Dalam Cairan Rumen Kambing Jawarandu
Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)
The study was aimed to determine the effect of the protein-energy synchronization index (PES) on the production of volatile fatty acids (VFA) and ammonia (N-NH3). The material used was rumen liquid from 2 jawarandu goats taken from the Sokaraja slaughterhouse, as soon as the goats were slaughtered, odot grass, indigofera, coconut meal, rice bran, tofu dregs, cassava waste and minerals. The experimental was used in vitro method with a Complete Randomized Design consisted of 5 treatments with an PES index (0.55 ; 0.60 ; 0.65 ; 0.70 and 0.75). Each treatment was repeated 4 times so that there were a total of 20 experimental units. The variable measured production of volatile fatty acids (VFA) and ammonia (NH3). The data were analyzed using variance analysis and the further tests used, was orthogonal polynomials. The results showed that the average VFA of each treatment was P1 = 90 ± 1.63 mM, P2 = 103.25 ± 9.29 mM, P3 = 91 ± 16.04 mM, P4 = 90.75 ± 2.50 mM and P5 = 90.5 ± 12.37 mM and NH3 was P1 = 6.75 ± 0.53 mM, P2 = 6.35 ± 0.34 mM, P3 = 5.1 ± 0.26 mM, P4 = 3.85 ± 0.10 mM and P5 = 3.7 ± 0.12 mM. The variance analysis showed that the protein-energy synchronization index of the ration had no significantly affect on VFA (P>0.05) but had a highly significant effect on NH3 (P<0.01). Orthogonal polynomials showed a linear effect on the PES index on NH3 production with the equations y = 16.33-17.2x and r2 = 0.9067. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the best protein-energy synchronization index in producing optimal VFA and NH3 is 0.75.
