Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian sosiologi sastra yang bertujuan mengkaji kekuasaan dalam pandangan Michel Foucoult. Pandangan kekuasaan Michel Foucoult dikenal sebagai teori relasi kuasa. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi permasalahan bahwa masyarakat tidak sadar sedang berada dalam kekuasaan melalui konsepsi relasi kuasa. Relasi kuasa bekerja secara terselubung dalam hubungan-hubungan antar masyarakat. Penelitian ini diterapkan dalam subjek novel Tarian bumi untuk mengupas keberadaan bentuk relasi kuasa dan wujud resistensi di dalamnya sehingga bisa memberi gambaran masyarakat mengenai cara kerja relasi kuasa. Peneliti mengumpulkan data penelitian menggunakan metode kepustakaan dan simak catat. Tata cara pengumpulan data peneliti diawali peneliti untuk memperoleh sumber data berupa buku novel Tarian Bumi, sumber data tersebut kemudian akan dibaca dengan cermat untuk mencari indikasi adanya bentuk relasi kuasa serta wujud resistensinya, setelah ditemukan data terindikasi akan dicatat. Kemudian dalam proses analisisnya peneliti menggunakan teori analisis data milik Milles dan Huberman yaitu peneliti akan mereduksi data ke dalam klasifikasi bentuk relasi kuasa dan wujud resistensi kuasa, lalu peneliti akan meyajikan satu persatu data untuk dianalisis, setelahnya peneliti melakukan verifikasi yaitu memastikan hasil analisis data. Hasil analisis data penelitian ini menunjukan terdapat bentuk relasi kuasa atas pikiran dan relasi kuasa atas tubuh serta wujud resistensi terhadap relasi kuasa atas pikiran dan relasi kuasa atas tubuh. Relasi kuasa atas pikiran terbagi ke dalam (3) data episteme agama, (8) data episteme budaya, (1) data episteme negara, dan (3) data episteme lembaga. Relasi kuasa atas tubuh terbagi menjadi (6) data tubuh sosial dan (4) data tubuh seksual. Data yang paling dominan dalam relasi kuasa atas pikiran adalah relasi kuasa atas pikiran melalui episteme budaya dikarenakan budaya mengakar kuat di masyarakat dan telah diwariskan lintas generasi. Terdapat data wujud resistensi relasi kuasa atas pikiran berupa (2) data 
episteme budaya, (1) data episteme negara, dan (1) data episteme lembaga. Resistensi relasi kuasa atas tubuh berupa (2) data tubuh sosial dan (1) tubuh seksual. Data resistensi yang tidak muncul adalah resistensi relasi kuasa atas pikiran melalui episteme agama hal ini dikarenakan agama kerap memberikan pengetahuan yang bersifat dogmatis.

This research is a sociological study of literature that aims to examine power in the view of Michel Foucault. Michel Foucault's view of power is known as the theory of power relations. This research is motivated by the problem that people do not realize that they are controlled by power with the concept of power relations. Power relations work covertly in relations between people. This research is applied on the subject of the Tarian Bumi novel to explore the existence of forms of power relations and forms of resistance in it so that it can give a picture of society about how power relations work. This research is applied to a novel entitled Tarian Bumi as the subject. This novel will be studied to find out the existence 
of power relations forms and forms of resistance in them so that they can provide an overview to the public about how these power relations work. The researchers collect data using the library method followed by a method called simak catat. The data collection procedure began with the researcher obtaining a data source, that is Tarian Bumi novel. The data source then would be read carefully to find data that has an indication of the power relation forms and forms of resistance. After the data is found, it will be recorded. 
Then in the analysis process researcher used Milles and Huberman's theory of data analysis, the researcher will reduce the data into the classification of power relations and resistance forms, after that the researcher will be present the data one by one for analysis, after which the researchers verify that is to ensure the results of data analysis. The results of the data analysis of this study indicate that there are forms of power relations over the mind and power relations over the body as well as forms of resistance to power relations 
over the mind and power relations over the body. The power relation over the mind is divided into (3) data on the episteme of religion, (8) data on the episteme of culture, (1) data on the episteme of the state, and (3) data on the episteme of institutions. Power relations over the body are divided into (6) data on social body and (4) data on sexual body. The most dominant data in the relation of power over the mind is the relation of power over the mind through the episteme of culture because culture is deeply rooted in society and has been passed down from generation to generation. There are data in the form of resistance to power relations over the mind in the form of (2) cultural episteme data, (1) state episteme data, and (1) institutional episteme data. The resistance of power relations over the body is in the form of (2) data about the social body and (1) the sexual body. The resistance data that does not appear is the resistance of power relations over the mind through the episteme of religion, this is because religion often provides dogmatic knowledge.
