Film hasil adaptasi novel mendapatkan perilaku dibanding-bandingkan dengan novel yang diadaptasi. Ekranisasi sebagai penghubung keduanya mengenai proses pengadaptasian novel ke bentuk film bahwa hakikat dari bentuk karya novel maupun film berdasarkan fungsi dengan medianya masing-masing merupakan dua bentuk karya yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penciutan, penambahan, dan perubahan bervariasi yang terjadi dalam proses ekranisasi novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu karya Tere Liye ke bentuk film Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu karya Danial Rifki. Hasil penelitian untuk menunjukkan perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi pada proes ekranisasi novel ke bentuk film.
Penelitian berupa deksriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa penggalan kata, frasa, dan kalimat dalam novel. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Metode analisis isi menggunakan deskriptif komparatif. 
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadinya perubahan pada adegan selanjutnya dalam film karena adegan sebelumnya yang sudah berbeda, tidak seperti pada novel. Perubahan terjadi sebab peristiwa saling berkaitan satu sama lain. Ekranisasi memunculkan peristiwa baru yang tidak ada sebelumnya, peristiwa yang menjadi bertolak belakang, maupun perubahan kecil pada detail peristiwa tanpa mengubah inti cerita peristiwa tersebut. Perubahan paling banyak terjadi berupa penciutan sebab tidak semua yang terdapat dalam novel dapat ditayangkan karena keterbatasan durasi. Penambahan tidak banyak dilakukan sehingga cerita pada film tidak jauh berbeda seperti pada novel. Perubahan bervariasi banyak dilakukan untuk kepentingan visualisasi agar penonton dapat ikut menikmati secara nyata film yang ditayangkan melalui gerak adegan. Hasil kuesioner mengenai tanggapan pembaca novel sekaligus penonton film responden mengetahui perubahan yang terjadi pada alur, tokoh, dan latar juga mendapatkan pandangan yang berbeda.

The film adaptation of the novel gets behavior compared to the adapted novel. Ecranization as a liaison between the two regarding the process of adapting novels to film form that the nature of the form of novel and film works based on function and their respective media are two different forms of work. This study aims to describe the reduction, addition, and various changes that occur in the process of ecranization of Tere Liye's novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu into the film Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu by Danial Rifki. The results of the study are to show the changes that occur in the process of ecranization of the novel into film form.
The research is a qualitative descriptive. Research data in the form of fragments of words, phrases, and sentences in the novel. Methods of data collection using the technique of listening and note-taking. Content analysis method using comparative descriptive.
The result of the research shows that there is a change in the next scene in the film because the previous scene is different, unlike in the novel. Change occurs because events are related to each other. Ecranization raises new events that did not exist before, events that are contradictory, or minor changes to the details of events without changing the essence of the story of the event. Most of the changes occurred in the form of shrinking because not everything contained in the novel could be shown due to the limited duration. There are not many additions, so the story in the film is not much different from the novel. Many changes were made for the sake of visualization so that the audience could really enjoy the film that was shown through the motion of the scene. The results of the questionnaire regarding the responses of novel readers as well as film audiences, respondents know the changes that occur in the plot, characters and settings also get different views.
