MORPHOLOGICAL PERFORMANCE OF SPOTTED SCAT, Scatophagus argus (Linnaeus, 1766) COLLECTED AT DIFFERENT WATERS BASED ON TRUSS MORPHOMETRICS

This study was designated to reveal taxonomy aspects of S.argus that can support the primary data of S.argus from the fisherman at Segara anakan Cilacap and which landed at Fish Auction Centre (TPI) Pemalang. Altogether 100 specimens were collected periodically from April to June 2021, ranging from 64,4-112,53 mm in standard length (SL) using a locally apong net. Each twelve distinguished truss morphometrics with standard length (SL). The parameter to be observed is a ratio between truss distance and standard length. The morphological performances observed were body type, mouth, scale, tooth and caudal fin type. Data from measurement will be analyzed using the “Mann Whitney” with SPSS software 16.0. 19 out of the 26 characters could distinguish Cilacap and Pemalang waters of S.argus from Cilacap had a more significant distance in 13 characters than from Pemalang, namely A3, B2, B4, B5, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7, C8, C9 & D5. At the same time, S.argus from Cilacap had smaller distances 5 truss distances than the samples from Pemalang, namely B1, D2, D3, D4 & D6. Based on the result of truss morphometrics observation, there was a differentiation part between the head, body and tail. On the head, there was character A3. On the body there were characters B1, B2, B4, B5, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7, C8, and C9. While on the tail is found in sections D2, D3, D4, D5 & D6.
