PENGARUH SUPLEMENTASI NATRIUM SELENITE TERHADAP CLUTCH SIZE DAN PRODUKSI TELUR AYAM NIAGA PETELUR

ABSTRAK Ibrani Wahyu Fernanda. Skripsi dengan judul “Pengaruh Suplementasi Natrium Selenite Terhadap Clutch size dan Produksi Telur Ayam Niaga Petelur” bertujuan untuk mengetahui level selenium yang paling optimal dalam meningkatkan clutch size dan produksi telur ayam niaga petelur. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Agustus – 17 Oktober 2021, bertempat di Teaching and Experimental Farm dan Laboratorium Produksi Ternak Unggas, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Materi penelitian yang digunakan adalah ayam niaga petelur strain Hy-Line yang berumur 34 minggu sebanyak 80 ekor. Pakan basal dengan kandungan nutrisi terdiri dari energi metabolisme (ME) (2600 – 3000 kkal/kg), protein (min 16,5%), lemak (min 3%), serat kasar (maks 7%), kalsium (maks 14%), fosfor total (min 0,6%), lisin (min 0,80%) dan metionin (min 0,40%). Kandang yang digunakan adalah kandang baterai sebanyak 20 unit percobaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan yaitu natrium selenite 0 (kontrol) (S0), natrium selenite 0,2 mg/kg (S1), natrium selenite 0,4 mg/kg (S2), natrium selenite 0,6 mg/kg dan 5 kali ulangan dan setiap unit percobaan terdapat 4 ekor ayam niaga petelur. Variabel yang diukur meliputi Hen Day Production (HDP), Hen House Production (HHP), total produksi telur dan clutch size . Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi (ANAVA). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan rata-rata produksi telur selama 8 minggu dengan perlakuan kontrol S0 (51,90 ± 2,45 butir/ekor), S1 (52,45 ± 1,92 butir/ekor), S2 (53,55 ± 1,14 butir/ekor), dan S3 (50,85 ± 4,42), HDP dan HHP dengan perlakuan kontrol S¬0 (92,68 ± 4,38 %), S1 (93,66 ± 3,42 %), S2 (95,62 ± 2,03 %) dan S3 (90,80 ± 7,90%) serta clutch size dengan perlakuan kontrol S0 (6,20 ± 0,57), S1 (6,35 ± 0,42), S2 (6,58 ± 0,22) dan S3 (5,95 ± 0,90). Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi natrium selenite berpengaruh tidak nyata (F hitung < F tabel 0,05) terhadap produksi telur, HDP, HHP dan clutch size ayam niaga petelur. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil yaitu penambahan natrium selenite sampai level 0,6 mg/kg pakan basal belum dapat meningkatkan produksi telur dan clutch size ayam niaga petelur umur 34 – 43 minggu. ABSTRACT Ibrani Wahyu Fernanda. The thesis titled "The Effect of Sodium Selenite Supplementation on Clutch size and Egg Production of Layer Commercial Chickens" aims was to determined the optimal level of selenium in increased clutch size and egg production of laying hens. The research was carried out on August 15 – October 17, 2021, at the Teaching and Experimental Farm and Poultry Livestock Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science, Jenderal Soedirman University. The research material used was 80 strains of Hy-Line laying hens aged 34 weeks. Basal diet with nutritional content consisting of metabolic energy (ME) (2600 – 3000 kcal/kg), protein (min 16.5%), fat (min 3%), crude fiber (max 7%), calcium (max 14%), total phosphorus (min 0.6%), lysine (min 0.80%) and methionine (min 0.40%). The cage used was a battery cage with 20 experimental units. The research method used was experimental with a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of 4 treatments, namely sodium selenite 0 (control) (S0), sodium selenite 0.2 mg/kg (S1), sodium selenite 0.4 mg/ kg (S2), sodium selenite 0.6 mg/kg and 5 replicates and each experimental unit contained 4 laying hens. The variables measured included Hen Day Production (HDP), Hen House Production (HHP), total egg production, and clutch size. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Based on the results of the study, it was found that the average egg production for 8 weeks with control treatment S0 (51.90 ± 2.45 eggs/hen), S1 (52.45 ± 1.92 eggs/hen), S2 (53, 55 ± 1.14 eggs/hen), and S3 (50.85 ± 4.42 eggs/hen), HDP and HHP with control treatment S0 (92.68 ± 4.38% ), S1 (93.66 ± 3.42 %), S2 (95.62 ± 2.03%) and S3 (90.80 ± 7.90%) and clutch size with control treatment S0 (6.20 ± 0.57), S1 (6.35 ± 0.42), S2 (6.58 ± 0.22) and S3 (5.95 ± 0.90) . The results of the analysis of variance showed that supplementation with sodium selenite had no significant effect (F count < F table 0.05) on egg production, HDP, HHP and clutch size of laying hens. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the addition of sodium selenite to a level of 0.6 mg/kg basal feed has not been able to increase egg production and clutch size laying hens aged 34 – 43 weeks.
