PENURUNAN NILAI BOD, COD DAN TSS LIMBAH CAIR TEKSTIL DENGAN PENYARINGAN BERTINGKAT

Penyaringan bertingkat merupakan metode sederhana yang digunakan untuk menghilangkan zat pengotor pada air dengan beberapa kali penyaringan. Pada penelitian ini alat penyaring bertingkat dibuat dari dua buah bak sebagai bak penyaring I dan II dengan komposisi bahan yang berbeda. Air hasil dari penyaringan diuji nilai BOD, COD dan TSS, dan dilakukan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Nilai BOD dari penyaringan I sampai IV berturut-turut sebesar 46,98 mg/L, 33,56 mg/L, 26,85 mg/L dan 20,13 mg/L. Nilai COD sebesar 58 mg/L, 42 mg/L, 30 mg/L dan 24 mg/L. Nilai TSS sebesar 18 mg/L, 14 mg/L, 10,5 mg/L dan 7,5 mg/L. Nilai BOD, COD dan TSS limbah cair tekstil hasil penyaringan I sebenarnya sudah diperbolehkan dibuang ke lingkungan, akan tetapi untuk menguji efektifitas penyaringan bertingkat dilakukan uji BNT. Berdasarkan hasil dari uji BNT, BOD dan COD lebih efektif dilakukan dua kali penyaringan, sedangkan TSS lebih efekif dilakukan satu kali penyaringan.

Multiple filtration is a simple method used to dissapear the pollutant in the water by making some filtrations. In this research, multiple filter tool are made by two pieces of place as a first and second filter place with different materials composition. Filtrate are tested of BOD, COD and TSS values, and also least significant difference value. BOD value from first until fourth filtration was 46.98 mg/L, 33.56 mg/L, 26.85 mg/L and 20.13 mg/L respectively. COD value was 58 mg/L, 42 mg/L, 30 mg/L and 24 mg/L. TSS value was 18 mg/L, 14 mg/L, 10.5 mg/L and 7.5 mg/L. From the result of the first filtration, we can actually waste BOD, COD and TSS textile wastewater value directly into our environtment, but we have to make significant difference test in order to examine the effectiveness of multiple filtration. Based on the result from significant difference test, it will be more effective for BOD and COD in twice filtration, whereas for TSS in once filtration.
