Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari kasus video viral Bupati 
Banyumas terkait pernyataan tentang OTT KPK. Kasus ini menjadi 
viral dan menjadi perbincangan hangat di nasional. Bahkan 
pemberitaan tersebut sempat menjadi topik utama dalam media 
nasional sehingga mampu menurunkan citra positif pimpinan Bupati 
Banyumas. Video viral diambil pada saat kegiatan diskusi dalam 
ranah tindak pencegahan yang diadakan oleh Koordinasi Supervisi 
Pencegahan (KORSUPGAH) KPK di Semarang yang dihadiri oleh 
seluruh ketua DPRD dan kepala daerah se-jateng. Maka dari itu, 
penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis strategi 
Humas Protokol dan Komunikasi Pimpinan di Pemerintah 
Kabupaten Banyumas dalam upaya mengembalikan citra positif 
pimpinan pada kasus video viral Bupati Banyumas terkait 
pernyataan tentang OTT KPK. Peneliti menggunakan metode studi 
kasus dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan Teori 
Pemulihan Citra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang 
dilakukan oleh Humas Protokol dan Komunikasi Pimpinan berupa 
klarifikasi secara tertulis dan merelease berita positif terkait prestasi 
Banyumas.

This research was motivated by the case of the Banyumas Regent's 
viral video related to the statement about the KPK OTT. This case 
has gone viral and has become a hot topic of national discussion. 
Even the news had become the main topic in the national media so 
that it was able to reduce the positive image of the Banyumas 
Regent's leadership. The viral video was taken during a discussion 
activity in the realm of prevention held by the KPK Prevention 
Supervision Coordination (KORSUPGAH) in Semarang which was attended by all DPRD heads and regional heads throughout Central 
Java. Therefore, this study aims to identify and analyze the strategy 
of Public Relations Protocol and Leadership Communications in the 
Banyumas Regency Government in an effort to restore a positive 
image of the leadership in the Banyumas Regent's viral video case 
related to the statement about the KPK OTT. The researcher uses a 
case study method using a qualitative approach and Image 
Recovery Theory. The results showed that the strategy carried out 
by the Public Relations Protocol and Communications Leader was 
in the form of written clarification and releasing positive news 
related to Banyumas' achievements.
