Pitung merupakan pahlawan rakyat DKI Jakarta yang jasanya begitu terkenang hingga dijadikan cerita rakyat. Transformasi cerita rakyat Si Pitung pun beragam, seperti film Si Pitung Banteng Betawi karya Nawi Ismail dan novel Pitung karya Rizki Ridyasmara. Penelitian ini menganalisis transformasi alur cerita pada film dan novel tersebut dengan fokus masalah pada persamaan dan perbedaan alur. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui persamaan dan perbedaan alur cerita film Si Pitung Banteng Betawi karya Nawi Ismail dan novel Pitung menggunakan teori transformasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan pendekatan teori transformasi sastra bandingan. Hasil penelitian ini terdapat tujuh persamaan alur cerita dan empat perbedaan alur cerita. Persamaan dan perbedaan demikian disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor. Pertama, perbedaan bentuk karya memengaruhi luasnya ruang cerita, sehingga penceritaan pada novel lebih detail. Kedua, perbedaan tema yang diangkat, pada film mengangkat tema kepahlawanan dan percintaan sedangkan pada novel hanya tema kepahlawanan saja. Ketiga, perbedaan penulis dan tahun terbit memengaruhi bagaimana karya itu lahir dengan mengikuti zamannya.

Pitung is a hero of the DKI Jakarta whose services are so remembered that they are used as folklore. The transformation of Si Pitung's folklore is also diverse, such as the film Si Pitung Banteng Betawi by Nawi Ismail and the novel Pitung by Rizki Ridyasmara. This study analyzes the transformation of the storyline in the film and the novel with a focus on the problem of similarities and differences in the plot. The purpose of this study was to determine the similarities and differences in the storylines of the film Si Pitung Banteng Betawi by Nawi Ismail and the novel Pitung using transformation theory. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method and a comparative literary transformation theory approach. The results of the research are namely that there are seven similarities in the storyline and four differences in the storyline. Such similarities and differences are caused by several factors. First, the difference in the form of the work affects the breadth of the story space, so that the storytelling in the novel is more detailed. Second, the differences in the themes raised. The film raises the theme of heroism and romance. Meanwhile, in the novel only the theme of heroism. Third, differences in author and year of publication affect how the work was born by following the era.
