Permasalahan dalam diri dapat dialami oleh setiap manusia karena adanya faktor penyebab berupa konflik batin atau psikis. Pada novel Pada Sebuah Kapal karya Nh. Dini ditemukan beberapa bentuk dan penyebab konflik batin. Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Bagaimanakah konflik batin tokoh utama (2) Bagaimanakah penyebab terjadinya konflik batin pada tokoh utama (3) Bagaimanakah relevansi novel Pada Sebuah Kapal karya Nh. Dini dalam pembelajaran sastra. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konflik batin tokoh utama, mendeskripsikan penyebab terjadinya konflik batin dan relevansi novel dalam pembelajaran sastra. Penelitian ini berbentuk deskriptif kualitatif dengan kajian psikologi sastra. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa kutipan cerita dalam novel dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan baca, simak, catat dengan metode analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat sebanyak 21 data bentuk konflik batin dengan 8 data penyebabnya. Relevansi penelitian ini sesuai dengan pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas XII SMA pada KD 3.9 menganalisis isi dan kebahasaan novel. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini ditemukan bentuk konflik batin berupa; depresi, obsesi, cemas, takut, tidak aman, rasa salah, frustasi, bimbang, jengkel, marah, sakit hati dan tidak puas. Penyebab konflik meliputi; kebutuhan penghargaan, kasih sayang dan rasa aman tidak terpenuhi. Relevansi hasil penelitian sesuai dengan KD 3.9 Menganalisis isi dan kebahasaan novel.

Problems in the self can be experienced by every human being because of the causal factors in the form of inner or psychic conflicts.  In the novel Pada Sebuah Kapal by Nh. Dini found several forms and causes of inner conflict.  The problems in this study are:(1) How is the inner conflict of the main character (2) What is the cause of the inner conflict in the main character (3) How is the relevance of the novel Pada Sebuah Kapal of Nh.  Dini's work in literary learning.   The purpose of this study was to find out the inner conflicts of the maincharacters, describing the causes of inner conflict and   the relevance of novels in literary learning. This research is in the form of qualitative descriptive with the study of literary psychology.  The data used in this study in the form of story excerpts in novels using reading collection techniques, listen, record with content analysis methods.  The results    showed there were as many a 21 data forms of inner conflict with 8 data on the cause. The relevance of this study is in accordance with the lessons Indonesian class XII High School in KD 3.9 analyzing the content and language of the novel. The conclusion of this study found a form of inner conflict in the form of; depression, obsession, anxiety, fear, insecurity, wrong feeling, frustration, indecisiveness, annoyance, anger, hurt and dissatisfaction.  Causes of conflict include; The need for appreciation, compassion and a sense of security is not being met. Relevance of the results of the study in accordance with KD 3.9 Analyze the content and language of the novel.
