VARIASI MORFOLOGI SERBUK SARI SEBAGAI SUMBER PAKAN LEBAH Tetragonula laeviceps DI DAERAH AJIBARANG, BANYUMAS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik morfologi serbuk sari bunga dari tumbuhan yang terdapat di sekitar sarang lebah Tetragonula laeviceps Smith dan mengetahui karakteristik morfologi serbuk sari yang dibawa lebah sebagai sumber pakan ke dalam sarang lebah T. laeviceps di daerah Ajibarang, Banyumas. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara random sampling dan preparasi sampel menggunakan metode asetolisis. Parameter yang diamati berupa unit, ukuran, bentuk, apertura serbuk sari, dan ornamentasi pada eksin. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 16 spesies bunga dari tumbuhan di sekitar sarang yang termasuk ke dalam 14 familia dengan karakter morfologi berupa unit monad, bentuk prolate-spheoridal sampai prolate, ukuran kecil sampai besar, apertura monocolpate, tricolpate, tricolporate, syncolpate, periporate, pericolpate, dan inaperturate, serta ornamentasi eksin psilate, scabrate, reticulate, echinate, dan gemmate. Serbuk sari di dalam sarang didapatkan sebanyak 13 spesies dengan 10 diantaranya terdapat kecocokan dengan serbuk sari dari bunga di sekitar sarang yaitu dengan karakter morfologi berupa unit monad, bentuk prolate-spheroidal, ukuran kecil sampai sedang, apertura syncolpate, tricolpate, tricolporate, periporate, dan inaperturate, serta ornamentasi eksin psilate, echinate, scabrate, reticulate, dan gemmate.

The main purpose of this study were to determine the morphological characteristics of flower pollen from plants found around the beehive of Tetragonula laeviceps Smith and to determine the morphological characteristics of pollen brought by bees as a food source into the nests of T. laeviceps bees in the Ajibarang area, Banyumas. The research was conducted by survey method with random sampling technique and sample preparation using acetolysis method. Parameters observed were unit, size, shape, pollen aperture, and ornamentation on exine. Data analysis was done descriptively. The results obtained 16 species of flowers from plants around the nest which belong to 14 families with morphological characters in the form of monad units, prolate-spheoridal to prolate forms, small to large sizes, aperture monocolpate, tricolpate, tricolporate, syncolpate, periporate, pericolpate, and inaperturate, and ornamentation of exine psilate, scabrate, reticulate, echinate, and gemmate. There were 13 species of pollen in the nest with 10 of them matched with pollen from flowers around the nest, namely with morphological characters in the form of monad units, prolate-spheroidal shape, small to medium size, syncolpate aperture, tricolpate, tricolporate, periporate, and inaperturate, and ornamentation of exine psilate, echinate, scabrate, reticulate, and gemmate.
