Penelitian ini membahas mengenai representasi fluiditas gender pada komik The Incredible Story of Nokia, Gemini and Athon oleh Gucci MX dengan Frankenstein Magazine. The Incredible Story of Nokia, Gemini and Athon adalah sebuah komik yang digunakan untuk kampanye kategori non biner yaitu Gucci MX pada laman web Gucci.com. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk-bentuk representasi fluiditas gender dan makna serta pesan yang ada dalam komik tersebut dengan metode kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Proses pemaknaan tanda pada Peirce mengikuti hubungan antara tiga arah, yaitu sign, object dan interpretant, untuk menganalisis gambar dan teks dalam komik. Paradigma yang digunakan yaitu paradigma konstruktivisme karena penelitian ini berhubungan dengan adanya interpretasi dari suatu konstruksi identitas.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada konstruksi identitas gender fluid pada ketiga tokohnya yaitu Nokia, Gemini dan Athon dimana mereka ditampilkan tidak hanya secara maskulin namun juga secara feminim. Bentuk representasi fluiditas gender dalam komik ini ditampilkan melalui appearance (clothes, piercings dan hairstyles), behaviors dan pronoun. Terdapat makna dan pesan yang berusaha disampaikan oleh komik ini yaitu gender identity bersifat dinamis, gender expression tidak selalu terikat pada jenis kelamin serta perlu adanya peningkatan toleransi gender.

This study discusses the representation of gender fluidity in the comic The Incredible Story of Nokia, Gemini, and Athon by Gucci MX with Frankenstein Magazine. The Incredible Story of Nokia, Gemini, and Athon is a comic used for the Gucci MX non-binary category campaign on the Gucci.com website. The aimed of this study is to determine the forms of representation of gender fluidity and the meanings and messages in the comics with a qualitative method using the semiotic approach of Charles Sanders Peirce. The process of interpreting signs in Peirce follows the relationship between three directions, sign, object, and interpretant. The paradigm used is the constructivism paradigm because this research deals with the interpretation of identity construction.
This study indicates a genderfluid identity construction of the three characters in this comic which are Nokia, Gemini, and Athon where they are displayed as masculine and feminine. The form of representation of gender fluidity in this comic is shown through appearance (clothes, piercings, and hairstyles), behaviors, and pronouns. There are also meanings and messages that this comic is trying to convey, namely gender identity is dynamic, gender expression is not always tied to biological sex and there needs to be an increase in gender tolerance.
