Abstrak - Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan bentuk, distribusi, fungsi, dan makna kategori fatis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut. Bentuk kategori fatis yang terdapat dalam acara temu wicara televisi Kick Andy episode Kejarlah Jodohmu meliputi tiga bentuk, yaitu partikel fatis, kata fatis, dan frasa fatis. Partikel fatis yang ditemukan dari data adalah 10 jenis partikel fatis dengan total sebanyak 62 partikel. Bentuk kata fatis yang ditemukan hanya 1 yang jumlahnya ada enam. Frasa fatis yang ditemukan adalah 3 jenis dengan total 12 frasa fatis. Fungsi kategori fatis yang terdapat dalam acara temu wicara televise Kick Andy episode Kejarlah Jodohmu antara lain 1) menghubungkan suatu ujaran dengan ujaran sebelumnya yang masih saling berkaitan, 2) menyatakan persetujuan, 3) mengawali ujaran. Makna kategori fatis tergantung pada konteks yang menyertainya. Kategori fatis terdistribusi di awal kalimat deklaratif, di tengah kalimat deklaratif, di akhir kalimat deklaratif, di awal kalimat interogatif, di tengah kalimat interogatif, di akhir kalimat interogatif, dan di akhir kalimat imperatif.

Abstract - The purpose of this research is to describe the form, distribution, function, and meaning of the phatic categories. Based on the analysis and discussion it can be summarised as follows. The form of phatic category contained in the television talkshow Kick Andy episode Kejarlah Jodohmu includes three forms: the phatic particle, the phatic word, and the phatic phrase. The phatic particles found from the data are 10 kinds of phatic particles with a total of 62 particles. Only 1 form of the word phatic is found, namely baik there are six of them. There are 3 phatic phrases found with a total of 12 phatic phrases. The three kinds of phatic phrases are alhamdulillah, insyaallah, and terima kasih. The functions of the phatic category are 1) connecting a speech with previous utterances which are still related to each other, 2) expressing agreement, 3) starting speech. The meaning of the phatic category depends on its accompanying context. Phatic categories are distributed at the beginning of declarative sentences, in the middle of declarative sentences, at the end of declarative sentences, at the beginning of interrogative sentences, in the middle of interrogative sentences, at the end of interrogative sentences, and at the end of imperative sentences.
