INAFIS (Indonesia automatic fingerprint system). Unit ini merupakan unsur pelaksana teknis pada di Reskrim, yang berada di bawah naungan payung di rektorat Reserse dan Kriminal yang bertugas membina dan menyelenggarakan fungsi identifikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui peran unit identifikasi dalam proses penyidikan pengungkapan tindak pidana pembunuhan berencana di Polres Pemalang dan kendalanya.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah yuridis sosiologis dengan spesifikasi penelitian deskriptif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan sekunder. Data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan informan, sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari studi kepustakaan. Data yang telah diperoleh kemudian diolah dan dianalisis dengan metode kualitatif dan disajikan dalam bentuk uraian yang tersistematis.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyidik dalam hal ini Tim INAFIS melakukan olah TKP dan mengambil barang bukti seperti sampel sidik jari korban identifikasi terhadap jenazah di tempat kejadian perkara (TKP) oleh Laboratorium Forensik (Labfor) atau Dokter Forensik untuk mencari tanda-tanda penganiayaan serta penyebab terbunuhnya korban. Hambatan yang dihadapi oleh unit identifikasi dalam proses penyidikan tindak pidana pembunuhan berencana di Polres Pemalang mengalami hambatan dalam faktor hukumnya sendiri yaitu tidak menutup kemungkinan bahwa tersangka akan dijatuhkan hukuman yang lebih ringan hal ini menghambat penegakan hukum. Dan faktor masyarakat yaitu kurang kooperatif masyarakat dalam memberikan keterangan atau informasi dan bukti-bukti.

This unit is a technical implementing element at the Criminal Investigation Unit, which is under the auspices of the Rector of Research and Crime, which is tasked with fostering and carrying out the identification function. This study aims to determine the role of the identification unit in the investigation process for the disclosure of premeditated murder at Pemalang Police and its obstacles.
The  method in this research used a  sociological juridical with descriptive research specifications. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through interviews with informants, while secondary data were obtained from literature studies. The data that has been obtained are then processed and analyzed using qualitative methods and presented in the form of a systematic description.
The results showed that the investigator, in this case the INAFIS Team, carried out the crime scene and took evidence such as fingerprint samples of the victim's identification of the body at the crime scene (TKP) by the Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) or the Forensic Doctor to look for signs of abuse and the cause of killing. victim. The obstacle faced by the identification unit in the process of investigating the crime of premeditated murder at the Pemalang Police is experiencing obstacles in its own legal factor, namely it does not rule out the possibility that the suspect will be given a lighter sentence. This impedes law enforcement. And the community factor is the lack of community cooperation in providing information or information and evidence.
