Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1)Untuk mengetahui apakah konten atau materi dari buku Pathway to English for 10th grades sudah memenuhi kelayakan persyaratan isi yang diteteapkan oleh Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan, dan (2)Untuk mengetahui perspektif / pandangan guru tentang kelayakan isi buku teks Bahasa Inggris berjudul Pathway to English for 10th grades. Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai penelitian kualitatif yaitu penelitian konten analisis dan lebih dalam lagi yaitu penelitian tentang textbook analisi. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan observasi, document analysis, dan interview. Dalam analisis data, peneliti membandingkan konten yang tersedia di dalam buku dengan persyaratan kelayakan isi yang disediakan atau di buat oleh Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan sebagai acuan persyaratan buku ajar yang digunakan di Indonesia untuk mengetahui apakah konten dari buku Pathway to English sudah memenuhi standar isi dari apa yang sudah ditentukan, kemudian peneliti membandingkan hasil dari analisi tersebut dengan hasil data interview dengan guru yang bersangkutan mengenai pendapatnya mengenai kelayakan isi dari buku Pathway to English. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kelayakan isi buku Pathway to English berdasarkan persyaratan yang disediakan oleh Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan hanya mencapai angka presentase sebesar 43,75 %, yang artinya buku tersebut tidak mencapai kategori yang diinginkan berdasarkan persyaratan Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan, kemudian dari hasil interview dengan guru yang bersangkutan mengenai pendapatnya tentang kelayakan isi juga didapatkan hasil yang menyebutkan bahwa buku ini belum memenuhi kelayakan isi sebagai buku pegangan siswa karna adanya kekurangan di dalam buku ini. Kesimpulanya, buku berjudul Pathway to English yang digunakan sebagai buku ajar siswa belum mencapai standar kelayakan isi yang di inginkan. Peneliti menyarankan agar buku tidak digunakan sebagai buku utama dalam pembelajaran, dan hanya digunakan sebagai buku pendamping saja.

The purpose of this research are (1) to find out the content in the PATHWAY TO ENGLISH FOR 10th GRADES textbook fulfill the feasibility of content requirements specified by Board of National Education Standard, and (2) To find out the teacher's perspective about the feasibility of content in English textbook entitled Pathway to English for 10th grades. This study was designed as a qualitative research, namely content analysis research and more deeply, that is research of textbook analysis. Researcher collected data by observation, document analysis, and interviews. In data analysis, researchers compared the content available in the textbook with the content eligibility requirements provided or made by the National Education Standards Agency as a reference for textbook requirements used in Indonesia to determine whether the content of the Pathway to English textbook meets the content standards that have been set or not. Then the researcher compared the results of the analysis with the results of the data from the interview with the teacher concerned. This interview focuses on his opinion about the appropriateness of the contents by the textbook entitled Pathway to English. The results showed that the feasibility of the contents of the Pathway to English textbook based on the requirements provided by the National Education Standards Agency only reached a percentage of 43.75%, which means that the textbook did not reach the desired category based on the requirements of the National Education Standards Agency, then, the results of an interview with the teacher regarding his opinion about the appropriateness of the content also obtained the results which state that this book did not fulfill the eligibility of the content as a student handbook because of deficiencies in this book. In conclusion, the textbook entitled Pathway to English which is used as a student textbook has not reached the standard of content eligibility desired. Researchers suggest that the textbook should not be used as the main textbook in learning, and only used as an additional textbook.
