Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh coronavirus baru yang secara cepat menyebar ke seluruh dunia. Pengetahuan yang baik mengenai Covid-19 dikaitkan dengan sikap optimis dan praktik yang tepat sehingga mendukung langkah pengendalian dan pencegahan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat dalam pencegahan Covid-19 dan mengetahui hubungan karakteristik responden (usia, jenis kelamin, pendidikan, penghasilan) terhadap tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat Kota Purwokerto dalam pencegahan Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian cross-sectional. Kuesioner pengetahuan diadaptasi dari penelitian sebelumnya. Sebanyak 403 responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dipilih menggunakan metode accidental samping. Kuesioner dibagikan secara online kepada masyarakat kota Purwokerto.Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan diuji korelasi menggunakan uji Spearman. Sebanyak 97% (n=403) masyarakat memiliki pengetahuan dengan kategori baik. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pendidikan (p<0,009) dan penghasilan (p<0,001) dengan skor pengetahuan. Sedangkan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara karakteristik responden meliputi jenis kelamin (p>0,948) dan usia (p>0,189) dengan skor pengetahuan. Dengan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan dasar kategori baik, mayoritas masyarakat Kota Purwokerto sudah mengetahui dan memahami terkait pandemi Covid-19 ini secara umum.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is a disease caused by a new coronavirus that is rapidly spreading throughout the world. Good knowledge about Covid-19 is associated with an optimistic attitude and proper practices that support control and prevention measures. The research aims to determine the level of public knowledge in preventing Covid-19 and to determine the relationship between the characteristics of respondents (age, gender, education, income) on the level of knowledge of the people of Purwokerto City in preventing Covid-19. This study used a cross-sectional study design. The knowledge questionnaire was adapted from previous research. A total of 403 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected using the side accidental method. The questionnaires were distributed online to the people of Purwokerto. The data were analyzed descriptively and tested for correlation using the Spearman test. As many as 97% (n = 403) of the community had good knowledge. There is a significant relationship between education level (p <0.009) and income (p <0.001) with a knowledge score. Meanwhile, there was no significant relationship between the characteristics of the respondents including gender (p> 0.948) and age (p> 0.189) with a knowledge score. With the results of the study it can be concluded that the level of basic knowledge is good category, the majority of the people of Purwokerto City already know and understand about the Covid-19 pandemic in general.
