Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus pada mesin percetakan dari CV.
Abata di Purwokerto. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efisiensi biaya
maintenance mesin percetakan dengan menggunakan metode repair maintenance
dan preventive maintenance. Hasil analisis repair maintenance policy dan
preventive maintenance policy menunjukkan bahwa (1) Kebijakan perawatan yang
optimal pada mesin produksi percetakan adalah kebijakan preventive maintenance
policy dengan total maintenance cost terkecil sebesar Rp 4.758.827 yang dilakukan
pada periode waktu setiap 12 bulan sekali. (3) Biaya yang dikeluarkan CV. Abata
saat menggunakan repair maintenance policy adalah sebesar Rp 12.880.263 setiap
terjadi kerusakan pada mesin produksi percetakan, sedangkan biaya preventive
maintenance policy adalah sebesar Rp 4.758.827 setiap 12 bulan sekali. Implikasi
dari penelitian ini, penulis menyampaikan saran agar (1)Untuk dapat menentukan
biaya maintenance yang tepat, perusahaaan hendaknya melakukan analisis biaya
maintenance dengan membandingkan biaya yang terendah antara biaya preventive
maintenance dengan biaya repair maintenance.(2) Untuk dapat menentukan sistem
kebijakan maintenance yang optimal, CV. Abata hendaknya menggunakan
preventive maintenance policy dengan periode waktu yang tepat karena dapat
membantu mengoptimalkan perawatan mesin produksi percetakan. (3) Dalam
melakukan preventive maintenance pada mesin, CV. Abata hendaknya melakukan
kegiatan yang meliputi tindakan antisipasi yang cepat jika terdeteksi kerusakan
sparepart, penggantian komponen rusak apabila ditemukan dengan melakukan
inspeksi dan penjadwalan perawatan yang tepat.

This research is a case study research on the printing machine from CV. Abata in
Purwokerto. The purpose of this study was to determine the maintenance costs of
printing machines using the repair maintenance and preventive maintenance 
methods, to determine the results of the comparison of the total costs using the
repair maintenance and preventive maintenance methods. The results of the repair
maintenance policy and preventive maintenance policy analysis show that (1) the
frequency distribution of breakdowns that occur in printing production, there is a
breakdown frequency distribution which indicates that the time of damage is
difficult to predict considering the damaged components and types of production
machines can be quite complex. (2) The optimal maintenance policy for printing
production machines is a preventive maintenance policy with the smallest total
maintenance cost of IDR 4,758,827 which is carried out every 12 months. (3) Costs
incurred by CV. When using the repair maintenance policy, Abata is IDR 12,880,263
for every damage to the printing production machine, while the preventive
maintenance policy costs IDR 4,758,827 every 12 months. The implication of this
research is that the authors suggest that (1) To be able to determine the
appropriate maintenance costs, companies should analyze maintenance costs by
comparing the lowest costs between preventive maintenance costs and
maintenance repair costs. (2) To be able to determine the maintenance policy
system that is optimal, CV. Abata should use a preventive maintenance policy with
the right time period because it can help optimize the maintenance of printing
production machines. (3) In carrying out preventive maintenance on machines, CV.
Abata should carry out activities that include quick anticipation if spare parts are
detected, replacement of damaged components if they are found by carrying out
inspections and proper maintenance scheduling.
