Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi poster yang dibuat oleh media streamer HBO sebagai iklan untuk serial Game of Throne menggunakan teknik analisis semiotik yang dikembangkan oleh Peirce. Peirce mengatakan bahwa tanda adalah objek yang dapat mewakili sebuah pemikiran. Tanda dapat berupa kata, gambar, suara, bau, rasa, tindakan atau benda. Sebuah tanda dapat mengacu pada suatu hal yang  mengacu pada semacam ide, yang kadang-kadang disebut dasar representasi (Chandler, 1999). Iklan tersebut akan dianalisis melalui teknik analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan semiotika teori Charles Sander Peirce. Setiap poster memberikan arti yang berbeda sesuai dengan musimnya. Pemilihan tema warna yang digunakan juga menggambarkan kondisi peperangan yang terjadi di tiap musim. Jika kita melihat objek utama yang menjadi sorotan, akan menggambarkan sorotan cerita di musim tersebut, dan akan menjadi sorotan sepanjang musim. Detail yang disajikan juga mendeskripsikan isi cerita yang ada pada musim tersebut, bisa dikatakan detail tersebut memberikan petunjuk tentang isi cerita yang akan dihadirkan pada musim tersebut.

This study identifies the poster created by HBO as an advertising medium for the Game of Throne series using the semiotic analysis technique developed by Peirce. Peirce said that a sign is an object which stands for another.  Signs take the form of words, images, sounds, odors, flavors, acts or objects. The sign stands for something, its object. It stands for that object, not in all respects, but in reference to a sort of idea, which sometimes called the ground of the representamen (Chandler, 1999). those advertisements will be analyzed through descriptive analysis technique using semiotics approach of Charles Sander Peirce theory. Each poster gives a different meaning according to the season. The choice of the color theme used also describes the conditions of war that occur in each season. The main object which is the highlight, it will depict the highlight of the story in that season. The details that are presented also describe the contents of the stories that exist in that season, you could say these details provide a clue about the content of the stories that will be presented in that season.
