Pantai Batu Hiu memiliki tempat penangkaran penyu yang dikelola secara swadaya oleh masyarakat setempat, yaitu Kelompok Pelestari Biota Laut (KPBL) Batu Hiu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui peran masyarakat terhadap upaya konservasi penyu hijau (Chelonia mydas) di Penangkaran Penyu Batu Hiu Pangandaran dan menyusun strategi pengembangan ekowisata  penyu hijau (Chelonia mydas) di Penangkaran Penyu Batu Hiu. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian melalui wawancara dan kuisioner dengan analisis data menggunakan analisis SWOT. Hasil dari Skripsi ini meliputi karakteristik pengunjung KBPL Batu Hiu dan masyarakat Desa Ciliang, pengetahuan masyarakat Batu Hiu terhadap istilah ekowisata penyu sudah mengetahui sebanyak 58,5% dari 82 responden.  Persepsi mengenai perlu tidaknya upaya konservasi penyu hijau dan pengembangan ekowisata penyu 100% menyetujui. Memberikan alternatif kebijakan pengembangan ekowisata penyu berdasarkan Analisis SWOT. Strategi yang menjadi prioritas dalam kebijakan pengembangan ekowsiata penyu di Batu Hiu menggunakan strategi progresif(S-O). Masyarakat Desa Ciliang sebagian besar sudah berperan dalam upaya pelestarian penyu di Batu Hiu dengan 73,17% responden menyebutkan sudah tidak ada penangkapan penyu dan 100% masyarakat Batu Hiu sudah tidak ada yang mengkonsumsi daging dan telur penyu.

Batu Hiu has a turtle breeding ground that is managed independently by the local community, namely the Kelompok Pelestari Biota Laut (KPBL). The purpose of this thesis is to determine the role of the community in conservation efforts of Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas) in the Batu Hiu Turtle Conservation, Pangandaran and to develop strategies for developing Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas) Ecotourism  in the Batu Hiu Turtle Conservation, Pangandaran. The method of collecting research data is done by interviews and questionnaires with data analysis using SWOT analysis. The results of this thesis include: the characteristics of visitors to the KPBL Batu Hiu and the people of Ciliang Village, the knowledge of the Batu Hiu community about the term "turtle ecotourism" for those who already know with score of 58.5% out of the 82 respondents. Perceptions of the need for green turtle conservation efforts and the development of turtle ecotourism are agreed with score of 100%. Providing alternative policies for turtle ecotourism development based on a SWOT analysis. The strategy that is a priority in the policy of developing turtle eco-tourism in Batu Hiu uses a progressive strategy(S-O). Most of the people of Ciliang Village have played a role in efforts to conserve turtles in Batu Hiu with score of 73.17% of respondents there has been no sea turtle capture and 100% of the Batu Hiu community that no one has consumed turtle meat and eggs.
