KARAKTER TANAMAN JEWAWUT (Setaria Italica (L.) P. Beauv) PADA KONDISI SALIN

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui respon pertumbuhan tanaman jewawut pada kondisi salin mulai dari fase perkecambahan benih, bibit, morfologi, fisiologi sampai hasil tanaman jewawut. Peneltian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2019 hingga April 2020 di laboratorium dan lahan salin pesisir pantai Desa Bunton, Kecamatan Adipala, Kabupaten Cilacap. Fase perkecambahan dilaksanakan dalam skala laboratorium menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 taraf perlakuan media salin dan 3 kali ulangan (3x3). Pada fase bibit, pertumbuhan, fisiologi dan hasil dilaksanakan secara eksperimental di lahan salin menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) dengan 2 faktor yaitu 4 taraf dosis pupuk N, P, K dan 3 taraf dosis bahan organik eceng gondok, diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Pada fase perkecamabahan media konsentrasi NaCl 0,21 mS/cm dan 2 mS/cm menurunkan panjang kecambah, panjang radikula, panjang hipokotil, potensi tumbuh maksimum dan indeks vigor, meningkatkan akumulasi asam askorbat dan protein. Morfologi bibit pada tinggi bibit, panjang daun, jumlah daun, diameter batang dan kehijauan daun menghasilkan kategori baik, cukup baik dan kurang baik. Dosis pupuk N, P, K 50% dan bahan organik 2.500 kg/ha meningkatkan jumlah daun 6 MST, N, P, K 50% memperbaiki kerapatan stomata, N, P, K 25% meningkatkan prolin, kombinasi N, P, K 100% dan bahan organik 1.500 kg/ha meningkatkan akumulasi klorofil b dan klorofil total. Kombinasi N, P, K 50% dan bahan organik 2.500 kg/ha meningktkan panjang malai.

This study aims to determine the response to the growth of foxtail millet plants in saline conditions starting from the germination phase of seeds, seeds, morphology, physiology to foxtail millet plant yield. The research was carried out from May 2019 to April 2020 at the Laboratory and the coastal saline area of Bunton Village, Adipala District, Cilacap Regency. The germination phase was carried out on a laboratory scale using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatment levels of the saline medium and 3 replications (3x3). In the seedling phase, growth, physiology and yield were carried out experimentally in saline fields using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors, namely 4 levels of fertilizer N, P, K and 3 levels of doses of water hyacinth organic matter, repeated 4 times. In the seedling phase, saline media concentrations of NaCl 0.21 mS/cm and 2 mS/cm decreased sprouts length, radicle length, hypocotyl length, maximum growth potential and vigor index, increased the accumulation of ascorbic acid and protein. Seed morphology on seed height, leaf length, leaf number, stem diameter and leaf greenness resulted in good, good enough and less good categories. The dose of fertilizer N, P, K 50% and the dose of organic matter 2,500 kg/ha increases the number of leaves 6 MST, the dose of fertilizer N, P, K 50% improves stomata density, fertilizer dosage N, P, K 25% increases proline, dose combination 100% N, P, K fertilizers and 1,500 kg/ha organic matter increased the accumulation of chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll. The combination of fertilizer N, P, K doses of 50% and organic matter of 2,500 kg/ha increases the panicle length.
