Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 04 januari – 08 februari 2020 di Desa Kebumen, Kecamatan Baturraden, Kabupaten Banyumas dan Laboratorium Ilmu Bahan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan fisik Azolla Microphylla dalam pakan terhadap persentase karkas dan kadar protein daging puyuh jantan. Percobaan dilakukan secara eksperimen dan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Rancangan terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali, setiap ulangan terdiri dari 5 ekor puyuh). Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu puyuh jantan umur 30 hari yang berjumlah 100 ekor. Setiap petak diambil 1 sampel puyuh jantan dengan bobot badan mendekati rata-rata. Analisis uji kadar protein daging dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Ilmu Bahan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah Uji Benar Jujur Nyata (BNJ). Perlakuan terdiri dari R0 (pakan dengan penambahan Azolla microphylla 0%), R1 (pakan dengan penambahan Azolla microphylla segar sebanyak 3%), R2 (pakan dengan penambahan Azolla microphylla dengan perebusan sebanyak 3%), dan R3 (pakan dengan penambahan tepung Azolla microphylla sebanyak 3%). Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh bentuk fisik Azolla microphylla yang ditambahkan dalam pakan terhadap persentase karkas dan kadar protein daging berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05). Rataan hasil penelitian yang didapat pada persentase karkas puyuh jantan yaitu R0: 67,31 ± 4,97%, R1: 69,06 ± 3,65%, R2: 65,91 ± 3,22% , dan R3: 69,24 ± 3,85%. Sementara untuk rataan kadar protein daging puyuh jantan yaitu R0: 21,67 ± 3,06%, R1: 23,51 ± 2,53%, R2: 21,47 ± 2,83%, dan R3: 23,66 ± 2,50%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penambahan Azolla microphylla dengan perbedaan fisik dalam pakan puyuh belum mampu meningkatkan persentase karkas dan kadar protein daging. MUHAMAD ABDAN SYAKURON. “Effect of physical differences on Azolla Microphylla in feed on carcass percentage and protein content of male quail meat (Coturnix-coturnix japonica)". The study was conducted on January 4 - February 8, 2020 in Kebumen Village, Baturraden District, Banyumas Regency and the Laboratory of Animal Food Science, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. This study aims to determine the physical differences of Azolla Microphylla in feed on the percentage of carcass and protein content of male quail meat. The experiments were carried out experimentally and used a completely randomized design (CRD). The design consisted of 4 treatments and each treatment was repeated 5 times, each repetition consisted of 5 quails). The material used in this study is 30 day old male quail, amounting to 100 individuals. Each plot was taken 1 male quail sample with body weight approaching the average. Analysis of meat protein content testing was carried out at the Animal Food Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Jenderal Soedirman University. Analysis of the data used is the True Honest True Test (BNJ). The treatments consisted of R0 (feed with the addition of Azolla microphylla 0%), R1 (feed with the addition of fresh Azolla microphylla by 3%), R2 (feed with addition of Azolla microphylla with boiling as much as 3%), and R3 (feed with addition of Azolla microphylla flour) as much as 3%). The results of the analysis of variance showed that the effect of the physical form of Azolla microphylla added to the feed on the percentage of carcasses and protein content of meat was not significant (P> 0.05). The average research results obtained on the percentage of male quail carcass are R0: 67.31 ± 4.97%, R1: 69.06 ± 3.65%, R2: 65.91 ± 3.22%, and R3: 69.24 ± 3.85%. While for the average protein content of male quail meat are R0: 21.67 ± 3.06%, R1: 23.51 ± 2.53%, R2: 21.47 ± 2.83%, and R3: 23.66 ± 2 50%. The conclusion of this study is that the addition of Azolla microphylla with physical differences in quail feed has not been able to increase the percentage of carcasses and protein levels of meat.
