Penelitian ini berjudul The Use of Collocation Memory Map in Teaching Writing Procedure Text (An Explorative Study on The Implementation of Collocation Memory Map in Teaching Writing Procedure Text to The Students of Ninth Grade of SMP Negeri 1 Patikraja). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi dan masalah yang dihadapi guru dalam mengaplikasikan collocation memory map untuk pengajaran menulis teks prosedur. Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksploratif dengan desain penelitian kualitatif. Peneliti menggunakan tes, observasi, kuesioner, dan wawancara sebagai metode perolehan data. Peneliti menggunakan metode triangulasi dalam menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki dua peran dalam implementasi metode collocation memory map; sebagai resource dan feedback provider. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan siswa bisa menggunakan kata yang berkolokasi dalam penulisan teks prosedur. Namun dalam proses pengerjaan collocation memory map siswa sering tidak paham akan kosakata yang ada di lembar kerja. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa collocation memory map dapat diaplikasikan dalam penulisan teks prosedur dan perlu ditingkatkan dalam implementasi lebih lanjut untuk meminimalisir masalah yang terjadi. This research entitled The Use of Collocation Memory Map in Teaching Writing Procedure Text (An Explorative Study on The Implementation of Collocation Memory Map in Teaching Writing Procedure Text to The Students of Ninth Grade of SMP Negeri 1 Patikraja). The purposes of this research were to find out how is the implementation of collocation memory map in teaching writing procedure and the problems encountered by teacher in implementing the method. This research is an explorative study with qualitative research design. The researcher collected the data by using tests, observation, questionnaire, and interview. The data collection process consisted of four observation meetings which started from September 13 − to October 4, 2019. The researcher used data triangulation technique to analyze the data. The result of the research showed that the implementation of collocation memory map method led the teacher to have roles as resource and feedback provider. Most of the students were also able to chunk up words successfully in procedure text writing as the result of the collocation memory map implementation. However, it was found out that the students often did not know the vocabulary meaning in the memory map. In conclusion, collocation memory map is applicable to teach procedure text writing and it needs some improvement to avoid problem and simplify the method for the teacher in the future.
