Latar belakang: Psoriasis adalah penyakit kulit inflamasi kronis yang tidak dapat disembuhkan. Kunjungan penderita psoriasis di RSUD Prof. Margono Soekarjo dan RS Universitas Negeri Sebelas Maret menempati 10 besar terbanyak di bidang dermatologi. Psoriasis tipe plak mencakup 90% dari seluruh jumlah kasus psoriasis. Methotrexate (MTX) dan narrow band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) merupakan terapi yang saat ini menjadi pilihan akan tetapi masih sedikit sekali penelitian yang mem-bandingkan durasi terapi keduanya.
Tujuan: Mengetahui perbandingan durasi terapi MTX dan NB-UVB pada ter-jadinya perbaikan awal psoriasis tipe plak.
Metode: Rancangan penelitian ini adalah kohort retrospektif yang dilakukan selama 12 minggu dengan populasi penderita psoriasis tipe plak di RSUD Prof. Margono Soekarjo dan RS Universitas Negeri Sebelas Maret selama Januari 2017 hingga Agustus 2019.  Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan besar sampel 35 subyek kelompok MTX dan 35 subyek kelompok NB-UVB. Tipe psoriasis, diagnosis, dan tingkat keparahan dievaluasi dan dicatat dalam rekam medik oleh dokter spesialis kulit kelamin. Tingkat keparahan psoriasis tipe plak dievaluasi menggunakan kriteria Gudjonsson setiap subyek kontrol. Durasi terapi ditentukan ketika ada penurunan tingkat keparahan dan dihitung dalam minggu. Perbandingan durasi terapi MTX dan NB-UVB diuji menggunakan uji Mann Whitney pada tingkat keparahan moderate, severe dan very severe. 
Hasil: Pada tingkat keparahan moderate, rata-rata durasi terapi kelompok MTX 5,5  1,8 minggu dan NB-UVB 4,8  1,2 minggu. Pada tingkat keparahan severe, rata-rata durasi terapi kelompok MTX adalah 8,3  3,4 minggu dan NB-UVB 9,5  2,2 minggu. Pada tingkat keparahan very severe, rata-rata durasi terapi kelompok MTX adalah 8,3  1,9 minggu dan NB-UVB 10,2  1,6 minggu. Uji mann whitney pada tingkat keparahan moderate, severe dan very severe menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan secara bermakna durasi terapi pada subyek yang mendapat MTX dan NB-UVB selama 12 minggu (p>0,05). 
Kesimpulan: Durasi terapi MTX dan NB-UVB pada terjadinya perbaikan awal psoriasis tipe plak tidak berbeda secara bermakna.

Background: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that cannot be cured. The number of psoriasis patients at Prof. Margono Soekarjo Regional Hospital and Sebelas Maret State University Hospital occupy the top 10 most frequent in the field of dermatology. Plaque-type psoriasis accounts for 90% of all psoriasis cases. Methotrexate (MTX) and narrow band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) are therapies that are currently and widely used but there are very few studies comparing the therapy duration of both therapies.
Objective: Evaluate therapy duration of MTX and NB-UVB in initial improvement of plaque type psoriasis.
Methods: A retrospective cohort was conducted for 12 weeks with a population of plaque-type psoriasis patients at Prof. Margono Soekarjo Regional Hospital and Sebelas Maret State University Hospital from January 2017 to August 2019. The sampling method used purposive sampling with a large sample of 35 MTX group subjects and 35 NB-UVB group subjects. Psoriasis type, diagnosis, and disease severity were assessed and noted in medical record by dermatologist. The severity of plaque-type psoriasis was evaluated using Gudjonsson criteria for each control subject. The therapy duration is determined when there is a decrease in severity and is calculated in weeks. Comparison of the therapy duration of MTX and NB-UVB therapy was tested using the Mann Whitney test at moderate, severe and very severe plaque-type psoriasis.
Results: At moderate plaque-type psoriasis, the average therapy duration of MTX was 5.5  1.8 weeks and NB-UVB 4.8  1.2 weeks. At severe plaque-type psoriasis, the average therapy duration of MTX was 8.3  3.4 weeks and NB-UVB 9.5  2.2 weeks. At very severe plaque-type psoriasis, the average therapy duration of MTX was 8.3  1.9 weeks and NB-UVB 10.2  1.6 weeks. The mann whitney test at moderate, severe and very severe plaque-type psoriasis showed no significant difference in the therapy duration of MTX and NB-UVB (p> 0.05).
Conclusion: The therapy duration of MTX and NB-UVB on the initial improvement of plaque-type do not differ significantly.
