Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) Tipe konflik sosial dalam novel Cherry Blossom dan (2) Fungsi konflik sosial dalam novel Cherry Blossom. Bentuk penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah karya sastra berbentuk novel dengan judul “Cherry Blossom” karya Christa Bella. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode simak dan teknik catat. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan metode pembacaan heuristik dan hermeneutika. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu terdapat 4 (empat) tipe konflik realistis dan 2 (dua) tipe konflik non realistis yang dialami oleh tokoh utama novel Cherry Blossom. Selanjutnya, terdapat tiga fungsi konflik sosial yaitu fungsi memperkuat solidaritas internal, memperkuat batas antarindividu, dan fungsi menambah loyalitas hubungan antarindividu. Dari hasil penelitian mengenai konflik sosial dalam novel Cherry Blossom terdapat relevansi terhadap pembelajaran sastra di sekolah, yakni pada tingkat SMA kelas XI mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia khususnya pada KD 4.20 menyusun ulasan terhadap pesan dari kumpulan puisi atau novel yang dikaitkan dengan situasi kekinian.

This research is purposed to describe (1) The type of social conflict in Cherry Blossom novel, and (2) The function of social conflict in Cherry Blossom novel. This research is descriptive qualitative study. The subject of this research is “Cherry Blossom” novel by Christa Bella. Collecting data method of this research is observation and note taking technique. The analysis method of this research used heuristic and hermeneutic reading method. The result of this research found there are four (4) realistic conflicts and two (2) non realistic conflicts faced by the main character of Cherry Blossom novel. The function of social conflict found was three (3), those are empowering the internal solidarity, enlightening the limit access of each individu, and increasing the loyality of each individu. There is a relevancy of social conflict in this research towards a literature learning in a school, which is on Indonesian Education lesson especially the competency 4.20 that is arrange a review of the message from the poetries collection or novel related to the present situation.
