Penelitian ini, "An Analysis of Nominal Ellipsis in Youtube Channel’s Cooking Video", berfokus pada jenis dan fungsi elipsis di video memasak pada channel Youtube. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif, penelitian ini bertujuan 1) untuk mengetahui nominal ellipsis dalam video memasak dengan menggunakan teori Halliday dan Hasan (1976) dan 2) untuk mengetahui fungsi nominal ellipsis yang diekspresikan dengan didukung oleh teori Hendricks and Spenader (2005). Data diambil dari ujaran dalam video memasak pada channel Youtube GoGreenGoLean-Susana Tsang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 40 ujaran yang diucapkan oleh Susana pada empat video. Ujaran tersebut dikategorikan ke dalam 64 total data nominal ellipsis yang digantikan oleh lima elemen pengubah. Dua dari lima determiner sebagai head menggantikan nominal ellipsis yang dihilangkan dalam ujaran video tersebut, termasuk deictic dan numerative sebagai head.  Unsur deictic yang ditemukan adalah specific deictic termasuk demonstrative pronoun (14 Data) dan pronoun (43 Data). Adapun unsur numerative, ada ordinal numeral (1 data), cardinal numeral (4 data), dan indefinite quantifier (2 data). Ada 75 data dari fungsi ellipsis, antara lain: Speaker Economy (43 data), Establishing Discourse Coherence (29 data), dan Conveying Non-Expressible Aspects of Meaning (3 data).

This research, “An Analysis of Nominal Ellipsis in the Youtube Channel’s Cooking Video”, focuses on the types and functions of the ellipsis in the Youtube channel’s cooking videos. By using the qualitative method, this research aims 1) to find out the nominal ellipsis in the cooking videos by using Halliday and Hasan’s theory (1976) and 2) to find out the functions of nominal ellipsis expressed supported by Hendricks and Spenader’s theory (2005). The data were taken from the utterances of the Youtube channel’s cooking videos by GoGreenGoLean-Susana Tsang. The result of the research shows that there are 40 utterances produced by Susana in the four videos. Those utterances are categorized into 64 total data of nominal ellipsis that are replaced by the five modifier elements. Two of the five determiners as heads replace the nominal ellipsis that are omitted in the utterances of the videos, including deictic and numerative as heads. The deictic elements that were found are specific deictic including demonstrative pronoun (14 Data) and pronoun (43 Data). For the numerative elements, there are ordinal numeral (1 data), cardinal numeral (4 data), and indefinite quantifier (2 data). There are 75 Data of ellipsis functions, which are: Speaker Economy (43 data), Establishing Discourse Coherence (29 data) and Conveying Non-Expressible Aspects of Meaning (3 data).
