Analisis Kualitas Simplisia Kering Daun Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) Berdasarkan Suhu dan Waktu Pengeringan

Daun kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) diketahui memiliki senyawa bioaktif antara lain polifenol, alkaloid, dan flavonoid. Komponen bioaktif tanaman kecombrang juga sering digunakan sebagai bahan makanan dan obat-obatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas simplisia kering daun kecombrang berdasarkan suhu dan waktu pengeringan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Faktor yang diamati yaitu suhu pengeringan (S) yang terdiri atas tiga taraf yaitu 50ºC (S1), 60ºC (S2) dan 70ºC (S3), dan waktu pengeringan (T) yang terdiri atas tiga taraf yaitu 120 menit (T1), 140 menit (T2) dan 160 menit (T3). Hasil analisis kuantitatif pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa simplisia kering daun kecombrang mengandung senyawa fenol dan flavonoid. Kadar total fenol tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan suhu pengeringan 70ºC dengan waktu pengeringan 120 menit sebesar 35,809 mg TAE/g dan kadar flavonoid tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan suhu pengeringan 70ºC dengan waktu pengeringan 140 menit sebesar 2,132 mg QE/g. Kadar air terendah diperoleh pada perlakuan suhu pengeringan 70ºC dengan waktu pengeringan 120 menit sebesar 5,557%. Hasil analisis kualitatif pada penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa simplisia kering daun kecombrang positif mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, steroid, tanin, fenol dan negatif mengandung senyawa glikosida. Perlakuan pengeringan dengan suhu pengeringan 70ºC dan waktu pengeringan 120 menit menghasilkan simplisia kering daun kecombrang terbaik dengan kadar total fenol sebesar 35,890 mg TAE/g, kadar total flavonoid sebesar 1,768 mg QE/g dan kadar air sebesar 5,557%.

Kecombrang leaves (Etlingera elatior) are known to have a bioactive compounds such as polyphenols, alkaloids, and flavonoids. The bioactive compounds of the kecombrang plant were also often used as food and medicines. This research aims to determine the quality of dried simplicia of kecombrang leaves based on temperature and drying time. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The factors observed in the drying temperature (S) which consists of three levels, that were 50ºC (S1), 60ºC (S2) and 70ºC (S3), and drying time (T) which consists of three levels that were 120 minutes (T1), 140 minutes (T2) and 160 minutes (T3). The results of the quantitative analysis in this research showed that dried simplicia kecombrang leaves contain of phenol and flavonoids compounds. The highest total phenol content was obtained at 70ºC drying temperature with 120 minutes of drying time was 35.809 mg TAE/g and the highest total flavonoids content was obtained at 70ºC drying temperature with 140 minutes drying time, was 2.132 mg QE/g. The lowest water content was obtained at 70ºC drying temperature with 120 minutes of drying time was 5.557%. The results of the qualitative analysis in this research also showed that the dried simplicia of kecombrang leaves were positively contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, tannins, phenols and negatively contained glycoside compounds. The results showed that the kecombrang leaves with a drying temperature of 70°C and a drying time of 120 minutes produced the best dried simplicia of kecombrang leaves with the highest total phenol content of 35,809 mg TAE/g, total flavonoids of 1,768 mg QE/g and water content of 5,557%
