HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG CARA MENYUSUI DENGAN KEJADIAN HIPERBILIRUBIN

Latar Belakang: Hiperbilirubin merupakan keadaan dimana terjadi penumpukan bilirubin di hepar sehingga menyebabkan bayi tampak kuning (ikterik). Hiperbilirubin dapat diatasi dengan pemberian ASI menggunakan teknik menyusui yang benar. Pengetahuan ibu postpartum tentang cara menyusui baik akan berpengaruh terhadap perilaku menyusui yang benar untuk mengatasi bayi hiperbilirubin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan ibu tentang cara menyusui dengan kejadian hiperbilirubin.

Metodologi: Penelitian ini menggunakan case control group design. Penelitian ini terdiri dari kelompok kontrol dan kasus dengan jumlah 30 responden pada kelompok kontrol dan 23 responden pada kelompok kasus. Responden dipilih dengan teknik consecutive sampling, kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney.

Hasil Penelitian: Hasil penelitian pada kelompok kontrol mayoritas memiliki pengetahuan dalam kategori cukup sedangkan kelompok kasus memiliki pengetahuan dalam kategori kurang. Hasil uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan ada hubungan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan ibu tentang cara menyusui dengan kejadian hiperbilirubin dengan p=0,039.

Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan ibu tentang cara menyusui dengan kejadian hiperbilirubin (p=0,039).

Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF MOTHER’S KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HOW TO BREASTFEED THE BABY WITH HYPERBILIRUBIN INCIDENT

Background: Hyperbilirubin is a condition where there is accumulation of bilirubin in the liver which causes the appearance of the baby is yellow (jaundice). Hyperbilirubin can be overcome by using correct breastfeeding technique. Postpartum mother’s knowledge about how to breastfeed properly will affect a good breastfeeding behavior to avoid hyperbilirubin baby. This study aims to find out the relationship of mother’s knowledge about how to breastfeeding with hyperbilirubin incident.
Method: This study used case control group design. This study consisted of two groups, namely control group and case group. The total number of respondents in the control group was 30 respondents, while in the case group was 23 respondents. The respondents were taken by using consecutive sampling technique. Then, the data were analyzed by Mann-Whitney test. 
Results: The results on control group indicated that majority of respondents had knowledge which was in fair category, while the respondents in the case group had knowledge which was in low category. The results of Mann-Whitney test showed that there was a significant relationship between mother’s knowledge about how to breastfeeding with hyperbilirubin incident with p= 0,039.
Conclusion: There was significant relationship between mother’s knowledge about how to breastfeeding with hyperbilirubin incident (p=0,039).
